Not it wasn't, you might have got a 4-pack, but it wasn't.

It sure will, when, only Gaben knows
Buy it, BTW.

The cheapest it's been has been 7.50 a copy in a 4-pack on GG, which is 70% off list price. It has only dropped down to about 50% off normally though, so it may take a while (I concur with the others, summer sale is most likely once interest begins to wane a bit)

I don't think so... Plus £6 wouldn't be 75% off, would it?
Comment has been collapsed.
It's funny that 75% off is the standard discount for buying a game for most people now... regardless of what the retail price is.
Chivalry could have been released at $20 or at $40, for the exact same game, and people would only buy it once it's 75% off because that's the acceptable price.

My first win was a PUBLIC Bad Rats. Pretty sure I just won the internet.

Ask Steam Support to remove it from your account and then win it. That's what brave men do.

Well, I simply did not buy games before the discounts. I think €60 (most games I would like) is WAY too much for any game. And Chivalry, well it was a kickstarter project (right?) and it doesn't have that much content, so why not wait for a discount?

I only buy games that way, in fact, I wait for them to drop the price and then go 75% off....I'm still waiting for lord of the rings war in the north

You must have missed the GMG sale. It was down to 3.74, and there was an active voucher at the time too. I think using that and like 50 cents credit I had, I got it for like 1.75?

It's easy for you to say, cause you live in US. Not only we, Europeans, have higher prices, but most of European nations earn far less compared to you (in Poland it would be 2-3 times less...). Sure, prices in our country are more or less adjusted so that most of us have quality living, but there's no denying that Steam prices are... not.
Don't know about Chivalry, but usually if the game is not 75% off on Steam, then we can easily find it cheaper elsewhere. So for me 75% off is actually the standard discount if it comes to Steam.

The game is awesome i highly recommend you buy it

Better in some aspects, but really worse when it comes to archery. And there are no horses

Bummer, I have a lot of fun as a longbowman. Horses I suppose can be absent if the melee makes up for it.

Ranged system is kinda broken, whatever you say. WoTR has it more polished.
And the game lacks maps and modes. But apart from that it's real good.

Shitty as fuck game.
Don't buy it. Ever. Torrent it if you really want it that bad.

Cod bummer? Dafuq?
It lags like hell, hitboxes are terrible, and the players are very immature and spammy.
(I expect the last one, but it's pretty damn bad)

Hitboxes are ok now, they used to be bad, now they are quite accurate. Other thing is that you know how to actually use a weapon instead of blindly wielding it and blaming everything on the lag.
It's a great game it only has a really steep learning curve.
Also players are kinda ok AFAIK

I suppose I'm just too used to other war/shooter games. The class balance is pretty shitty in Chivalry, as when I'm an archer it takes 6 hits to kill someone and everyone can one shot me.
But the hitboxes are incredibly shitty due to what I've played. Once I was circling a guy and it took 5 minutes before one of us even hit each other once.
The lag is terrible. Don't blame it on my computer, I can run Borderlands 2 on high settings. Don't blame it on servers, because the servers I played on have excellent ping.
I wasted $13 on this game.
(And seriously, "cod bummer"?????)

Well, archery is quite broken to be honest. And there are classes ridiculously overpowered too (I heard Vanguard with Halberd, 2H Swords? )
And I personally have no problems with hit boxes, they seem quite accurate, but it's true that it's difficult to get used to the way the combat works.
And I only had lag problems once on a 64 ppl FFA server. Apart from that (Well, today some lag problems arised too, but I blame it on the free weekend) everything was ok.
I've put like 25h on it, and I'm still an average player, so it's a bit noob-unfriendly.
BTW It wasn't me the one who called you cod bummer :·3

Thanks for being civil about this, unlike some people I've argued with in the past.
(I know you didn't call me cod bummer, I'm just hoping that the person who did would EXPLAIN.)

It might have been an overeaction on your side I mean.

I'm sure it will, but since it's predominantly a multiplayer game, surely it's better to pay an extra $6 now while the servers are well populated and you can enjoy the game as it was intended, rather than waiting until the game is all but dead, and the devs are trying to wring a few extra dollars out of it at 75% off to fund the sequel?
Comment has been collapsed.
Maybe, maybe not.
Even if this is the case, by the time you buy the discounted game, its lifespan will be significantly reduced.
Comment has been collapsed.
Plus, by then you might be playing with more noobs and you'll have a better chance at learning to play without getting demolished.

I'm not sure about the life span of chivalry since there is not many other games to compare it with. But I get the feeling that I might get bored with the game real fast.

Coincidentally, someone from gamespot streamed some Chivalry gameplay before the steam free weekend. Very funny stuff
