This is my (sad) story. (sorry for bad english if there is any)

so last year i moved from holland (or the netherlands) to senegal (in africa), just before i moved i got a bunch of ps3 games. when i plugged in my ps3 in my new house because i wanted to play some Battlefield 4 (im a huge fan if battlefield and i could not wait to play this game), i forgot i had to update it to be able to play online, but i went ahead and skipped that because i did not have my internet connection set up. so i was playing campaign and at the second mission there was an part where you had to get on a boat to (i asume) finish the mission, but because i never updated there were glitches, one of those being the boat never spawnend (D:). so i tried updating the game (after getting internet), but i was stopped in my tracks. The reason being that because i now live in africa there are frequent power outages and my internet connections shuts itself off after one/two hours and then i have to restart it. ontop of that the internet speed is 50 kb/s. and i got bf4 pretty late so there was an 4 gig update waiting for me. so now i am here replaying the first mission over and over. also i sometimes cant play cs go D:

Yeah, my family moved to africa back in '01 and it was a similar situation (although the world wasn't nearly as dependent on internet back then). I had to get creative with the various PC Gamer CDs I had and ended up playing the HL1 demo (uplink) over...and over...and over...

(btw that demo was excellent)

and battlefield 4 was supposed to be amazing. But it was a buggy/glitchy mess. Everything was super duper broken.

Oh yeah, the movie was great and happy but just try to imagine reliving the same day over and over again and not managing to find that one thing that would get you out of it. In OP's case that's the fully downloaded Battlefield 4. And, as the situation currently stands, he's gonna be stuck in that for a long, long time...
That made my soul hurt :(

Great movie. but you know he lived like a lot fo time in a loop:
"On the DVD, Harold Ramis states that the original idea was for him to live February 2nd for about 10,000 years. Later he says that Phil probably lived the same day for about 10 years"
i remember reading about it elsewhere that someone calculated and found that he lived ~80 years. to learn all the stuff he learned

I love that movie too but never thought of looking up its trivia. Thank you for finding this, I'm totally enjoying reading it! :D

Stuff like this reminds me of just how amazing Harold's work is. He's had a hand in so many of my favorite movies. If I had the time, I could very easily watch every single film that he was involved with. Especially Ghostbusters.

Well, whats sopping you?
oh, life (and a huge backlog of games).

I've recently started re-watching Starwars Machete order.
i don't let the fact that i know 4,5 and 6 by heart to stop me.

Yeah, too much stuff. Though I have been re-watching the Ghostbusters films. Just won a copy of the game, so of course I had to. It'd be a travesty if I didn't.

Oh, wow. That's actually a really neat idea. I might just watch 'em like that sometime.

Yeah because "some African countries" would be more appropriate. Don't make a false statement on a whole continent with the reality applying only on a few countries.

first get your facts straight. not most of africa is not very safe, maybe 8 countrys at most. and i dont know what you mean with not very safe, is it war you are talking about? desease? im not getting a whole lot of info out of your post, and nothing was wrong in the netherlands. my dad and my mom both wanted to live as farmers and not have to do office work all day (which was litteraly killing my dad). so they asked us if we were ok with that and we were (we being me and my little brother). and senegal is safe, desease wise senegal is the leading anti ebola country in the region. war wise, the closest war is two countrys away and wont move closer to us, because its an civil war. and i am HAPPY here. i really am, happy for my dad and mom, just some thing here suck. and i have to suck it uo and be a nice son so my parents will be happy too.

that is not true at all, the people here might be poor but everything is cheap here aswell, sooooooo... people here might not have a pc or console, but they have food each day and are happy so i dont see the problem.

and my niece (who lived in senegal here intire live) was asked by some people to put on broken clothes and stand infront of the old ruined school to make fotos for people who do that kind of shit you talked about. she just thought she was going to be a model, but she helped spread a broken image of africa.

It depends in the country itself I believe. I have many friends from Africa(mostly from Angola and Moçambique) and they say many parts of the country is really poor. In Moçambique(or S. Tomé, don't really remember which :P) when people came back from fishing, the older the fish is by the time it was fished, the cheaper it is. Most people buy it when the fish is 5 days old. 5 days exposted to the sun, bugs and everything between. It may be cheaper but you may get really sick.

I've never been there and to be honest, I'm not really interested(I love the countryside, but I can't stand the heat), so most of what I said is nothing but stories that people told me.

But, but, but... AFRICA SCARRYYY THO
TEH BAD MAN SAY TAHT HOMOSEXUALS EATS DA POO POO
AIDS
KILLER MOSKEETURS
SO MUCH VIOLENCE

In all seriousness now, that stereotype is past absurd. Everyone I know who lives in Africa is happy there. The worst that they've dealt with is a bit of Ebola, and that's one unlucky dude.
Africa is just as varied as every other continent*. It's a shame that so many folks are not aware of this.

*It's not country, dammit, so folks need to stop saying that it is.:u

I know those garbage, slow as fuck Internet feels. ;_;

My family had to move back close to my nana, to help take care of her after her surgery, and all we could get for a while is dial-up-caliber nonsense. And even that didn't work all of the time, thanks to our worthless ISP. Couldn't do multiplayer for years. And anything above a megabyte or two was out of the question, unless I wanted to leave my PC on all night. Plus it disconnected like mad, which often corrupted anything that I was saving to my PC.

I once wandered about the neighborhood, and leeched off of whatever I could find, all to trade Pokemon on my copy of Diamond. Even stood out in the cold a couple of times. Damn shame I couldn't find a wifi hotspot closer to home. :p

Haha, I'm so adapted to slow internet now that if I ever get to use fast net I really wouldn't know what to do. I think places like SA it's extremely fast (or it was the few times I went there) but still have no idea what to do.
2Mbps is amazing, also really like? 2Mbps all the time, is that real? what?
Hope you managed to download BF4 ^^

That is nothing to me but blinding. 110Kbps it betrays me for I can show you slower net, I made it my home; whilst preparing an upgrade. Then I will show you, your precious net, gratefully accepted. We will need it. Ah yes, I was wondering what would cut first my net or my electricity.
