I'd highly recommend buying the game. You can pause indefinitely during combat, but it's not fully traditional turn-based. It makes me think of KOTOR.

How is this a KOTOR game?!
There is nothing similar lol
Ni No Kuni is like Tales of Vesperia and other JRPG games

Ah, I didn't know I could pause, that makes it so much better. Thank you! :D

I like it, this was my 3rd playthrough, really good game to finish not so great to complete.
The combat while better than pokemon isnt particularly refined. The ai is really dumb and you have to set simple instructions and hit the timing to block or attack

Oh, that sucks about the few cutscenes :/ I do hope the playable parts have beautiful art, though

it's very beautiful game i love it much, combat sistem is ok you can do escape in circle circle oblique enemies can't hit u most of time,if you want to "take your time",they can hit your companions and friend but not you and even if when hit you can use heal magic, also there is fate trow you energy balls.
Me is same you not like timed fight, but ninokuni can play by use my circle escape strategy

I will look up this "circle escape" tactics! Thanks for the tip! :D

Yes!! Absolutely yes! It's gorgeous once you get used to how combat controls.

i would recommend to play the second Part first. its much better and if you like it, you still can later buy the first Part on sale (and as its not a sequel, you can easy play it first^^)

I thought of that, but Im afraid I will buy it and a couple of months later there will be a "remastered version" lol

50 hours? Damn. Judging how short Psychonauts 2 was for me, long games are welcomed :D

fun game, decent but childish story. only real down side is it does become a grind by the end. some of the quests are a real pain!!!! trying to catch that ONE things that almost never spawns.... oooh you didnt catch it this time. try 15 more times

Hmmm I see. I think it might be like what another comment said "Finish it but dont complete it"

It's great, I played it on PS3 and the sequel on PC. Loved Wrath of the White Witch and liked Revenant Kingdom.
Music is great, graphics are awesome, story is solid and has scarce but nice plot twists.
As for combat, you run around a bit and give commands to your minions - it's kinda different from other games. Like a much more dynamic Pokemon battles or something like that.

Should I buy Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch? I saw that the remastered version has a pretty good deal in Steam due to the Lunar Sale event. But has anyone on the Steamgifts community recommend this game?
I am a big fan of Ghibli art, but I really hate that Final Fantasy combat system (I do love turn-based combat, but only when I have all the time in the world to strategize)
Thank you in advance for your answers! :)
