Yep, I'm in one of the areas that went on lockdown to try and contain Covid-19 from spreading further. Lots of working from home, not much else to do except watching series & movies, playing games and doing grocery shopping for the next few weeks.

On the plus side, since I'm not driving around for work at the moment, I'm saving money on fuel. Which is nice, because that means I can afford to make some giveaways for unbundled stuff again.

So here's somethng fans of immersive sims should enjoy.. If you win, it should keep you busy for a fair number of hours; perfect to pass the time if you're stuck in the same situation as me.

I work from home, and spending time by playing games and watching movies. I guess there is nothing to do really.
Thank you for the giveaway, It's a really nice one.

We started to do some basic exercises at home and also some Wii (if you have it) activities. Otherwise try to talk to people via the internet, phone and other means without contact. It helps. All the best for you and everyone else.

Right now I don't even have time to play games, what with keeping track of all the freebies offered by nice devs (especially on itch.io). ๐Ÿ˜„

That being said, thanks for an awesome gib!

I am in a lockdown area, too (Italy), but I'm working normally since I am in the transport sector. Besides not being able to go out when I'm home, I'm living almost the same as before.

My country (Argentina) is also going into lockdown as more and more things are closing, no confirmed cases in my province so far but the governor seems to prefer to be safe so aparently they're shutting down transport and maybe even the border with the neighboring province (international borders are already closed).
I should be studing but in actuality I'm just watching youtube and playing Faerie Solitaire, can't believe it took me so long to start playing this game, it's really adictive.

Trust me when I say that your governor is doing the right thing. Faerie Solitaire is great, have a good time playing it :)

Oh yeah, I also think it's better to be safe, at least for a couple of weeks. In other parts of the country some people interpreted this as vacations and started traveling so it was unavoidable to start closing some highways.

there's always stuff to do.
movies, series, books, games.
deep clean your home, get rid of useless clutter, do some tim taylor home improvement.
learn how to properly cook (maybe later)
also some at home workout routine won't hurt.

i'm no fan of living in a cage (all the time) but i could be busy for months if i have to.
i guess we'll see what happens next...

Being a person that knows how to "cook" I would definately put that high up on the list (in countries where the only other option is takeout). Plenty of great YT channels to help you out and time is no issue right now ;)

I read through the Sun that workers in your position are going to be paid something due to R.P. closing, is it true?

There is supposed to be some kind of national aid package that dipshit is releasing for those that don't qualify for EI, but I haven't really heard too much about it.
I was in the midst of looking for work when things went down, so I am somewhat in the same situation.
My sister doesn't qualify for EI either so i hope they figure something out for you all.
Good luck with all of this.

Yeah, the whole thing is going to hurt a lot of people financially. Local labor laws prevent outright lay-offs, but many part-timers don't get paid because they can't put in hours, and we've got a large number of independent workers who only now realize why they should have built up reserves.
Government is promising financial aid, but they also gave a track record of pumping money into the wrong places. So we'll see how that works out.

I'm always glad to share one of my favorite things, and am equally glad that you found that link useful!

I especially love comedic books, so I really appreciate the writings of E. J. Rath, as, coupled with a semi-understanding of the culture back then, I find them hilarious. I count myself blessed that my grandparents had a ton of pre-ww2 books from their ancestors, and I spent many nights there devouring these old, sometimes somewhat musty, but nearly always enjoyable books.
Random Tidbit: Nancy Drew books used to be illustrated in flapper girl-style clothing. :O Very different from the 60s-reprints that I grew up with, or the modern ones.

Other favorites from that website:
G. A. Henty (an outstanding historical fiction writer from the end of the 1800s),
Clarence Mulford (the Original Hopalong Cassidy author),
Grace Richmond
Kathleen Norris (one of the most prolific female authors of the late 1800--mid-1900s),
Stratemeyer Syndicate books (most of the YA Grosset & Dunlap books from the 40s & 50s were Stratemeyer books) including Victor Appleton (Tom Swift Senior),
Frank V. Webster (adventure), E Philips Oppenheimer, Edith K. Dunton, Ruthe S. Wheeler, and Zane Grey

I'm not really into comedy, but I love crime and some fiction stories so I would definetely check the ones you shared.
By the way, I hope they don't use difficult or strange language or structures because, even though I am fairly good at English, I'm not native xd
You made my quarantine easier, thanks :)

EJ Rath wrote a bunch of comedy /real life experiences of a hero/heroine, and they usually end up falling in love at the end, so kinda rom-sit-com, i guess?

Some authors use more obscure words than others, but most of them shouldn't pose any issues for you.
The thing about stratemeyer books is they are uploaded via the author's name, even if 5 different authors wrote as that name (eg Victor Appleton).

Glad to ease it in some way!

if you know a specific category you want, you can also search the bookshelves. they don't catch and categorize very much, but do help to categorize some of the books, which might help introduce you to some new authors.

I'm playing games.

I have bought food before for a month as I was sure that whole country will be locked down soon by watching how CIVID-19 spreads around the globe.

I'm going out only to walk with my dog and buy bread.

But most important job for me now is to keep my parents alive, don't let them go out and watch them and do anything I can to help them survive as with all their chronic diseases and how physically weak they are they have about 90% chance to die if they ever catch this virus.

The clausure comed here two days before the start of classes. So, I see Netflix (so many things on my list), read books (last month I buyed around 30 books (physical books) because I had discounts with my credit card) and play games (huge backlog too). Like Zarddin, I only go out with the dog... After four days, I'm enjoying it, what a wonderful life XD

I already work from home and I went to the grocery store last week before people started panicking, so I've got plenty of food and nothing seems different for me. We're not on lock down, but schools are closed and some businesses too. They've asked people to stay at home and avoid large gatherings. I did have to go out and run an errand yesterday. I was expecting the roads to be empty and town to be deserted, but it looked normal to me.

I will try to use this time while sitting at home to get my home in order.. I might be moving after all this craziness is over so I should keep my things in order not to lose anything :D
But overall I keep on working as I would on regular day. Its mostly planning and making lists and researching stuff so I dont really feel limited in my capacities to do work at home instead of at office

Books of course, but sadly didnt take books from library before it closed. I finished second book of Game of Thrones (translated in my native language) so I wanted to get 3rd book in library as well but I cant do that now.. Got to read online, but its only in English there.. Well, time to clear my reading backlog of other books then :D
