When creating a giveaway, we can attach the game key into the giveaway. But once a giveaway is created, we cannot modify the attached key anymore until the giveaway is ended. So if someone accidentally attached a wrong key, they will have to remember to modify it to the correct key before sending, which causes some issues if the giveaway period is very long and the giveaway creator forgets.

Please allow us to modify the attached key during the giveaway too.

I just double-check the key before pressing the Send button.

It would be extremely tedious if there were a lot of giveaways that end at the same time

It is extremely tedious for me too since I have a long list of game keys in my To-Giveaway-List.

In that case I just put them up as "gifts" initially and copy the keys one by one to each winner when it ends.

It is extremely tedious if you create a giveaway for, let's say, 10 copies in one giveaway. Because currently you can just paste 10 lines of keys into the textarea and the system will auto allocate the keys to the winners for you.

It is somewhat tedious, yes, but currently it is the best thing I can do to ensure that I send the correct keys without sending tons of emails.

I do the same as talgaby, but I think shauntmw's suggestion is good.

Just double-check the key before you create the giveaway or before you click send when its ended. Or add the key after the giveaway ends, there are someways to avoid it before it happens.

I like this idea, especially if I have a bunch of giveaways going all at once, and forget (aka space out) which keys I have used so far. -_-
I'd even like the option to just see the keys once the giveaway is created ...

Totally agree to this too.

Sometimes I have 3 keys of the same game that I decided to giveaway to 3 different groups. So I created 3 giveaways, and forgot which key I have already attached to the first 2 when creating the 3rd...

I do the same thing all the time. Then I get paranoid checking my list over and over, wondering if I attached the right key to the right giveaway ... it's a maddening circus in my head when creating giveaways. ;_;

It would be nice to have this option.
Is there some technical reason for it not to be included already? Will the site slow down 100% if it's added?

Probably closer to it would need the users to have access to admin tools to edit already posted and live giveaways.

I'd love to have this option too. I'm not even sure why it's not already coded in the basics of SG :)

If you notice after submitting just add a comment to the givewaway to remind yourself.

You can always choose key and add the key after winner is selected. This way you know the exact key what you send plus you can check the background of winner if he fits SG rules plus your stated criteria in description.

Otherwise keys got forgotten, got locked in suspended winner account etc. etc. Although a change option would be nice but should not let change after win since it can cause problems if there is an debate on whether the key is working or not between gifter and winner.

Just mark that key as used as soon as you create the GA. If you have a list it's easy to do that. I don't have a list. I just reveal the key on the bundle site the moment I create the ga. If it's revealed, it's been used. And if I wrongly reveal a key [happened twice], I just create a ga at that moment.
I consider that key used because it will go to someone after the ga has ended, even if it doesn't reach 5 entries, I have never deleted a ga for that reason, since I don't think it's fair.

Sorry for reviving this but I support the suggestion. Creating a ticket to change the game is OK-ish but it takes time to solve tickets and people who entered a giveaway for a different game will be surprised.
EDIT: However, creating support tickets is not a solution to this problem. GA creators should be able to modify the keys and perhaps even modify the games.

this topic has nothing to do with changing the game in giveaway.

Changing the game is one of two ways of solving the problem with a wrong attached key, although it's not a solution, especially if some of multiple attached keys are wrong.

Game should be never changed while giveaway is running, and only rarely can be changed after giveaway end, and only if winner agree to it and support checked that this is not an abuse attempt. It has nothing to do with changing the key with another one to the SAME game.

In this case, I don't see a reason that the support ticket topic "change giveaway game" exists especially if there's no support topic "change attached keys".

You're arguing two different things. Consider what Ryz has said.

You don't need a support topic to "change attached keys" because you can do it yourself.
And support topic "change giveaway game" is to change the game

after giveaway end, and only if winner agree to it and support checked that this is not an abuse attempt

veebles, it's not the solution we need. It's easy to forget to change the key after a giveaway ends, and I don't see a reason for not being allowed to modify the links during giveaways.

I don't see your point. If it's OK to modify the keys after a giveaway ends, I don't see why not do it during a giveaway. It would just be a simple feature.

If your memory is so bad - just don't put any key upon giveaway creation.
Also, how will you find out that you even put a wrong key?

You can find out what game it is by clicking the humblebundle link.

You need to have OCD to check hb links when giveaway is running already... But then I wonder why the same OCD does not make you check link before confirming GA.

No you shouldn't be able to change a game. Work around to this is simple. Just delete your giveaway before ending if you delete before ending you don't need support approval it is automatic yes you will lose a slot for this but it is fair. And if it's an honest mistake support can provide new slots.

Can you read my comment again? I never said I wanted to change the game without a support ticket. I thought I was supposed to change the game if I entered a wrong key.

You don't enter key before game so it is kinda your fault for doing it. I am still agaisnt it. Deliver correct game and move on or take a not recieved. Also thinking all these before doing any giveaway and get a good understading of system seems pointless debate to me. It can be improved but decide that after using it.

Edit: Also it is highly unfair to those who enter for giveaway.

Deleting a GA is instant, but it does lose a GA slot. I assume that's to prevent abuse.
