I kinda don't like it because giveaways that aren't CV or group or private are impossible to win because people just enter them to enter even if they don't want the game

look at it like an incentive to be more active in the forum

Amen.
The whole CV system has caused nothing but endless whining.

The whining will shift from CV to inclusive groups/giveaways and rampant blacklisting. The whining isn't going anywhere.

Yeah i feel sorry for the mods. so many re-roll requests coming their way :(

+1
It's only ever the topics that change.
If anything, whining about closed giveaways (ie whitelist, group, etc) will increase. Many of those who don't make "no CV" public giveaways under the current system do it for a reason, and are unlikely to begin doing so once the CV limited option disappears.

Exactly. I feel there will be much more dissent without CV restricted giveaways.

I look forward to the coming chaos. Honestly, I like CV, since it provides an easy snapshot of a person's willingness to contribute to the community. Granted, its imperfect. CV goes down as the value of the given games goes down, even though it was worth more when it was a given (which is a disincentive to giving high value games early on, if you're interested in CV). The entire bundle CV issue is a never-ending mess.
I'll be interested to see which kinds of threads are reoccurring on V2.0, but I'll be unlikely to do any public giveaways with a CV limit. I'm not usually concerned that people give a lot, but I think they should give something. They're certainly willing to take something.

When it first started, it as decent. Nit as good as SG but decent. People where giving good non-bundled games.
Then the admins added stuff like extra entries, poker entries and other stuff. Also the refill was set to high. I have almost 4 million points for entries. After that things went down hill fast.

http://www.steamgifts.com/bundles/list
You get the full CV if you create the giveaway before the game is bundled, not "before it is listed as bundle", because the bundle list is maintained by only 2 persons, so if a bundle starts Monday, you create your giveaway on Tuesday and the list gets updated on Saturday, your giveaway will retroactively be treated as a bundle game and your CV will be adjusted.

I've also heard that is gets done for leaked bundles, however I don't know for sure if cg/Shobo actually do it that way.

CV doesn't matter man. Just enjoy people's happiness and try to give. Giving is what counts not being rewarded for that giving. :)

Wtf I thought if you did giveaways before a game was listed as a bundle item that they didn't take your CV away. I was at like $98 and now I'm at $77
