You need to own the game yourself. Either a tradable gift or a serial key. The site does not magically generate games for random people to create giveaways.

Well, this explains a lot... :)

Surprisingly, it's not the magical game fairy buying the games people give away. Now, most people wait for a sale, or trade other virtual stuff for them, or buy from a different region, etc. - but someone paid for every game in every giveaway. And they give us bums a chance to win them, just to be nice. Yay. :)
