I've seen "promise is a promise is a promise" couple of times before. And I can google up about 8240 results with it. But where did it come from?
Also in Star Trek series there is a Ferengi rule of acquisition "A contract is a contract is a contract...". I guess it was made from this "promise" thing. Or is this "X is X is X" some usual form that means something like "X is indeed an X"?

Jingle All the Way is called "Una promessa è una promessa" (a promise is a promise) in italy > we've so many strange movie titles, I think there are some crazy powerfull idiot who invents titles that have nothing to do with the original ones.

"Una promessa è una promessa" is a common phrase, is used to reinforce the fact that a promise is "sacred" so you have to keep the word given (?).
