She has MAC book so they should be MAC compatible. Either co-op or multiplayer. Should be enjoyable to play for short periods of time during weekend.

For GAs you can join the group below. Currently 60+ GAs from 0-6 level. Will be adding more soon.

Just did the same. She really enjoyed The Floor is Jelly and Lume. Although, those two kind of require you both to be in the same room.

You mean local co-op?

They're single-player, but we played together. For local co-op, I'm thinking Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime would be great.

Don't forget single player puzzle games. Like Hexcells or Grimm's Journey.

Portal 2 was first game I played together with my gf - it worked perfectly, she got hooked up enough to try other coop titles :)

The Walking Dead
Not exactly co-op, but great for someone who isn't into gaming

I'd say practicaly every TellTalle game.

That was going to be my suggestion too.

the older ones are more traditional point&click, and aren't quite as non-gamer friendly, so I'd skip those for now, but if she likes the newer ones she can explore those later

At first I thought she was 60 and I was wondering why would you call her "girl".

I think she may enjoy sandbox games such as Terraria, Starbound or Creativerse :)

Yeah, my gf got hooked by Minecraft and proceeded to Project Zomboid afterwards. PZ got a proper MP in the meantime :)

Forget all those casual answers: you don't introduce someone to wine by pouring rotten blood down their throats. Turn her into a gamer by giving her some gaming multiplayer caviar, like Monaco, Spelunky (runs mighty fine in Easywine) or Offworld Trading Company!
Edit: but whatever you do never EVER play Don't Starve Together with her (title should be a sufficient warning)

Oh god... you want to start her on Monaco? Hmm... actually might not be a bad idea.

Also what about 'Keep talking and..'. I haven't played it yet but looks interesting and also not for "gamers" exclusively.

I'm gonna suggest ibb&obb. Quite simple, appealing, cute visuals and lots of fun! Perfect for a non gamer.

the game itself is simple, the puzzles and sometimes the needed timing in controls are not - it´s not really for a beginner

you'll have to learn the basics in every game and I assume it's still fun for beginners even if there's difficulty. They don't have to master every stage and you'll learn the controls in the first easy levels. I recommend it too

I've been in that situation (I've even made a thread or two similarly looking for suggestions).

We played, and enjoyed, some puzzle games. 'Ibb & Obb' is delightful, but the difficulty of the later levels is beyond what my partner can readily manage. (Which she's fine with, but becomes very frustrating to me after twenty or thirty minutes on one piece of a level.) We've had somewhat better luck with 'Never Alone', which so far seems to be much easier as a platformer (though it's nowhere near as original a game).

On 3d games she almost universally has trouble--anything where you have to control your view or the camera is a challenge. (Turns out it takes many hours of practice to get used to working two sticks. It's just most of us have done it for so long it's second nature.) 'Portal' and 'Portal 2' were thus very difficult. 'Brothers: A tale of Two Sons' worked better because it lacks camera control. It's not really meant to be co-op, though it does provide options to play it that way.

Our best successes were elsewhere though. 'Diablo III' was great and enjoyable for both of us for many, many hours. The controls aren't that demanding, and if only one party member goes down it isn't that big a deal. (We played it on console, but I imagine a PC version would be pretty similar.) We also quite enjoy 'Sentinels of the Multiverse' which is really just the digital version of a co-op card game we like. But it's way cheaper to buy or trade for the software, and my wife can play as female versions of Batman and the Flash simultaneously, which she gets a kick out of.

Good luck!

Mouse + Keyboard worked fine for my gf with Portal - I wouldn't even think of giving her controller so early :D. She never really worked it out how to play with controller in any game but Don't Starve Together - that's the only game she could control with sticks

Possibly that would be easier. It might be worth a shot.

I replaced my xBox, DVD player, etc. with a gaming PC. It's in the living room hooked up to the TV, and there isn't any great place to set up a mouse and keyboard. So whenever possible I opt to use xBox controllers.

Ah, I see. It wouldn't be perfect, but you could try wireless keyboard and mouse - they are pain in the ass because of batteries, but it would make it possible to play on a couch in front of TV

Yeah, that's what I do when a game calls for it. I have a wireless gaming mouse. I usually set up a TV tray and chair. (Sadly it doesn't work well from my couch. The height is wrong.)

Anyhow, hassle of my setup aside, I appreciate the suggestion. I probably will try it at some point. I'd assumed mouse and keyboard would be less intuitive for most (it is for me, but that may be because I've generally played FPS games on a console until recently).

Where did you find a girl that doesn't play video games?

My girl is not a gamer. Never has been, probably never will be. But for some reason, Torchlight II clicked for her and she's addicted to gaming for the first time. It's cheap, it's Mac compatible, and it has low system requirements. Might be worth a shot?

Check those two games, they are diferent type of games, but both of them are really funny to play with your soulmate :)

I started with those games with my girlfriend, she's addicted now, be carefull :D

It obviously won't run on MAC, but keep in mind for the future to play Silent Hill with her (unless she hates horrors).

I had a Mac and there is a small amount to play as it is. Going for coop platformer a normally should be good. Ibb&obb seems to be a good pick of its compatible :3

My GF and I enjoy playing LEGO games together... of course those are dual-screen on the same PC though.
Also hidden object games though she seems to hate playing them with me 0_o

Either HOGs or you can try maybe The Cave. It's not exactly easy though. But great to try with 2 minds.

Otherwise... I'm thinking the Portal suggestions and Luchingador's Sonic racing are good options... but again, a Mac...

For a completely non-gamer girl I propose something fun, simple, accessible and colorful like Woah Dave! or QbQbQb.
