Fallout 3 or New Vegas ?

Didn't played any game of this series but i would like to give a try. What should i buy?
PS : I have Windows 7 64 bits version (It is written in Fallout 3 description that isn't optimized for Windows 7) so it is any problem?

edit - fallout 3 crashes alot with windows 7 unless you edit 2 lines in an ini file

I've played FO3 in Win7 without any problems and I haven't edited the ini. 32 bit by the way.
Rodxt you should get FO3, If there's any problems just do what frosyasice said.
Story wise it doesn't matter which one you play first.

Yeah i have a 64 bit and it crashed alot. maybe its only with 64 bit

If you can get only one, I'd go with New Vegas.

But both are worth it...

I personally love new Vegas xD So far I haven't run into any problems as a windows 7 user.

Fallout: 3 if you haven't played any previous Fallout games.
Fallout: New Vegas if you have played any of the previous Fallout games.

Gameplaywise New Vegas is better,but I would say F3 has better Atmo/Freedom.

Definitely 3.

New Vegas felt boring... Might have just been due to the fact that I played over 100 hours of Fallout 3.

I bought both. Fallout 3 has been working fine on my Win7 Quad core.

Definitely New Vegas, although I didn't have any problems playing F3 on Win7 x64
