well the main difference is in playable decks which are always different... there's also some few other things like story, how is campaign managed and usually, every new DotP game brings some new and exclusive game type... also, if you buy some older game you might have some problems with searching for the players in multiplayer, but if you're fan and you have somebody to play with, you can enjoy the older games as well... I have original DotP, 2012 and 2013 and from those three I like the 2012 the most because it had very good balance amongst the decks...

2012 had terrible balance between the decks, nearly all had bad combo pieces and curved off with one of the Eldrazi mythic rares meaning it was just a race to assemble the combo, 2013 went too far the wrong direction and made nearly all the decks about one style of playing making the blue control decks seemingly overpowered against nearly everything

Yeah it is just my opinion, but nearly every deck curved out with a Eldrazi, which made any of the decks with mana ramp just increasingly powerful, the green/blue deck with "the nut" draw could play a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth/Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre on turn 4 or 5, and both were in the deck, which is just too powerful, you couldn't effectively lock the game out that quickly at least in 2013, but the decks are very gimmicky in 2013 nearly all based around one archetype.

In 2013, Whilst starter decks were a little unbalanced at times, when you unlocked more cards and built your own deck they were fine. They seem to be bringing the ability to create new decks, which was never there in previous ones, you could modify existing decks, but that was it. They are also bring a new game mode, sealed play. In sealed, players start with an initial pool of six 14-card booster packs, using these to build an initial 40-card deck. By winning matches in the campaign mode, players will gradually earn an additional three boosters, allowing them to either refine their existing deck or build a new one entirely. Heres a quote from a website While DOTP will give players their first two sealed pools for free, though those who find themselves addicted to the thrill of opening virtual packs can open additional sealed pools for $1.99 apiece, up to 20 pools in total. When asked at E3 why the limit on sealed pool slots, brand manager Adam Dickson made the astute observation that anyone who’s dropped $40 on digital cards is probably ready to make the move to the actual game. He’s probably right, though as a longtime player of the game I advise you to make the most of DOTP’s value pricing before you start turning your paychecks into boxes of actual boosters. Whilst im not a fan of throwing money at a game after I have purchased it, these prices dont seem the highest, which I suppose is a bonus. Though im still not sure I would do it.

I bought first one, 2012 and 2013, wish I didn't. Exact same game with different decks. I won't be going for 2014. These could be provided as DLCs.

what do you mean? and i saw that you can buy decks so if i dont buy decks i will have a weak one? or i can get strong cards even without buying decks?

You cant buy decks. You can only unlock all of the cards for them immediately. (You would otherwise have to win 30-40 games for them) [Not counting deck packs]

And the sealed deck mode is a new addition in 2014 and lets you build your own deck from 6 booster packs you get + 3 you can unlock.

Well haven't played it yet. But deck building should be good! I think they're being greedy with future DLCs and spot unlocks though

Yup, but the trial is just fine just have to wait about 5secs at the start and then close it. No real difference from the payed license.

I've bought and played the shit out of all three installments so far, but the original is still the best, in my opinion. Hopefully 2014 can dethrone it.
