International English Language Testing System, English Language test

Yep indeed, the test is really harsh on those who are not prepared.

That scoring on tests is evil, evil I say.
I know one teacher who was doing that kind of tests. After first round he always had to make second round (because nobody passed) and requirement was getting at least 0 points.
People thought they were smarty-pants by only answering one question to get 1 point, but real smarty-ones were those who give blank paper, since no answers given = 0 points, so they passed right away :P

Hey, glad to hear that you have achieved more than 7! Also yeah. The UK did a bad move and now is in thurmoil as it was expected :)

true that, there is still 2 years till something that affects migration MIGHT happen, and that's the reason i'll be moving there, it's always been my dream, and as a student i got nothing to worry about, the ones that have to worry are the scum that is ripping off the country by making kids and sitting on their asses 24/7

Then what about the plummeting of the pound and the racist outrage?

I did the CAE (Cambridge Advanced Exam) and scored a C1. That tested your language knowledge, and I passed with something like a 7. My mum thought it was an advantage to have a title saying that I knew how to speak english, so that's why I took it.

A pair of years ago, when I was thinking about moving UK to study. Scored 7.5 I think.

Heard about TOEFL one but never of the IELTS ... probably not as popular around here. Did the "English: First Certificate of Camebridge" back in skewl - got only a B, but considering my writing skills spoiled by mostly typing on computers and the effort put in, i'd think it was good enough to prove " i R iz engrish, preased to spik and metingz yuo".

Here in Europe is famous not only for migration purposes, but mainly for applying to universities.

.. i was just doing the exam preparation they sent to me for like 10th time. looking around the net for more preparation and then i open SG and read a thread about it, now isn't that a coincidence, i'll be taking it in like 2 weeks, the only part i am worried about is the reading probably, there are so many tricky questions, and maybe a bit of the topic on the speaking part, hopefully it'll be something from the daily life and not politics connected lol

Haha :D. You might try thinking of where are the answers often located in the text e.g. the linking paragraph titles to the text.

Took the test last year, before moving to the UK for studies. Luckily got an 8.0. It just needs going through quite a few simulation tests. Also, I found that some YouTube channels were pretty helpful, giving tips and highlighting common errors etc. Definitely check YouTube if you're planning to go for IELTS!

So yeah guys, the question is if you did the test, how well have you perfomed and why did you do it?
Just to note that IELTS stands for International English Testing System and it's required in most of the universities.
Thank you in advance for you answers! :)
