Play as the villain... Because it's fun yo.

Sup guys? Sitting at work, bored as hell and and still nearly three hours to go. I was thinking and couldn't come up with any good games that let you be the villain. Any suggestions? I just want to cause mayhem and spread evil around the world, planting fear into the hearts of everyone who crosses me.

Well, not really a "villian" but a gangster. By those standards I guess GTA would qualify too.
Overlords might be more evil since you play an evil overlord.

GTA and Saints Row are villainous, but Overlord is so tongue-in-cheek that it doesn't qualify. It's easy to play "good" in Overlord.

There are plenty of games that let you play the villain. Bully, Postal, Evil Genius (more slapstick), Mafia, ... the list goes on and on. I also see that nobody else has mentioned Grimm....

Overlord is kickass. Legit, one of my favorite games of all time.

And dungeon Keeper is roughly 4 times as good, so make sure to play that one as well.

And if you like Dungeon Keeper, you should check out Evil Genius.

It's very similar, except you play as a James Bond villain instead of a demon lord.

Try going outside, the best graphics you can get is right there and since graphics=fun&entertainment then you'll never ever get bored with it :)

Fable 3 is not so bad, I quite enjoyed it. But... Fable 1 will always be the best, in my opinion :)

Garret is a good guy, but depends on you how you play as him, by killing people or leaving them alive.

+1 I went Light side on the first play-through, but its also fun to go full out evil and crush everyone. The Dark Side attributes seem more powerful anyway.

Also Fallout games. You can be as evil as you want.

I am still holding out hope that they make a Batman game where you play as the villain of your choice. Where your main goal isn't saving the people, but killing them. And killing Batman.

But it's hard to find good games where you can play the villain. I like games where I can somehow choose sides (fallout e.g.).
