I don't understand the puzzles at all,Please tell me, is 15 a swing or carousel? I feel like I've been going in the wrong direction

I've connected the numbers to letters, I think? Probably. But I can't figure out the who so I'm guessing names that have the letter I think corresponds to one.
It's been a process and I'm probably massively overthinking this XD

Lol feeling very much like I've disappointed some ancestors with how long this took to figure out, but bump for solved!
As for which point in time I look the most fondly on, it would definitely be 80s - 00s, but I grew up in the middle of that period. I think as adults we're predisposed to long for the days of growing up. We're discovering so much about ourselves and our place in the world -- every thing is new and an adventure. Even benign stuff, like opening your first bank account, is going to stick with you. Plus, more time for friends and less time for work. It's just a natural part of growing up, as heavy as that can be.

Bump. Also regarding your question, I have 3 eras I am most fond of, each with their own detriment that could potentially push it off the favourite spot, so I'm not sure where to vote. My childhood clearly gets a nostalgia bonus but was not free of struggle. Early adulthood came with more freedoms and more responsibility. And here we are now, having lived through a series of once-in-a-lifetime historical events (the irony is palpable) and both freedoms and responsibilities have increased.
If I were to find a gaming equivalent, as a child there was plenty time to play a few favourite games. There weren't as many choices as there were now, and the choices were limited by pocket money or parental permissions (or even availability since not everything is released everywhere). Then I had more money at my disposal, more choices, and lots of energy to play, but not so much time. Now I have what I consider an alright work-life-balance, I can spend more money on games even, but I find myself at times paralyzed by the many choices I have. Plus sometimes being an 'old fart' kicks in and I use my free time to nap rather than game, haha.

Hint 3 did it for me, so bump for solved! \o/
My sister told me recently, that nowadays 11 year old teenage girls act as she had when she was 14. Even though 2000-2020 era is the only one I have actual memories of, I can see it's not exactly the most positive it could be. Personally, I think my future might be pretty good, but I am quite vary of what seems to be happening to people around the world, especially with the ones addicted to social media trying to make others feel bad and excluded for not being part of the craze.

There are moments when I yearn for simpler times... but I cannot deny that now is the best time ever to be alive. Modern medicine, modern plumbing, and every other modern convenience. Things have, quite literally, never been this good. Despite all the bad in the world I would not want to go back because things were objectively worse.
The future can be scary, sure. But the future is where hope lives. I'd like to think someday things will be better than they are now, even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes. Whether that is in our lifetime or not there is no way to know.
Hope for the future makes things worth striving for. At least, that's my take

I'm ashamed that it took me nearly a day to work out something so comically simple, I've got no excuse, I plead trying to be too much of a clever clogs your honour 😄.
As for the poll, I'm not sure if I'll put in a vote, as a trained historian I know too well the feeling that many in each generation have for preferring the pace of the previous one. Rose tinted glasses are forever deceiving. And while I agree with some here that technology and medicine have made lives easier, it's an argument for philosophers whether that makes these times "better". Everyone will have their own idea, and that's probably the way it should be.
Though if push came to shove, I'd probably pick 80s/90s. Yes I know most of the destructive economic & political philosophies of today had their roots in that era (and full disclosure I'm a child of the early 80s) but I can't help but feel that period was more balanced, more "real", one of the last periods before technology became a tool to divide rather than bring us together. (+1 about phones, youngsters here might be surprised to know the world doesn't end if you aren't available 24/7)
Though my lifelong inner Star Trek fan might want to vote for future, 20 years of studying history and just over 40 years of lived experience have tempered my hopes. 😭 Thanks for the puzzle and have a bump!

I've been coming back to this multiple times and it was only thanks to you that I got it to accept my answer with the incognito window 😭😭😭 I should've known there was something messed up when literally every hint released was like "but I already knew that so how am I still getting this wrong??" but I thought it was just me lmao

I've been saving up some Humble Bundle keys for a while, and I think now's the time to part with them. All keys will be Humble Gift links.
Entry to the train will be guarded by a puzzle. Please don't post spoilers. I'll be happy to provide hints if people are having trouble.
Each giveaway will last 24 hours and start/end at 12:00 PM CST, two giveaways per day. Due to giveaway limits I won't be able to post them all at once, so keep an eye on the latest giveaway for an updated link to the next car of the train.
I've decided on a theme of reflecting on the past. If you feel so inclined, please post one of your favorite memories, or discuss the poll.
Good luck everyone!
Hint #1 - The answer ends with the letter A
Hint #2 - I could easily add these extra lines to the riddle:
Number 26 generates buzz,
But does not indulge in rumors,
12 can live, laugh and love,
Though it has no sense of humor
Hint #3 - Pay attention to where Number 5 begins and ends and where Number 2 starts
Hint #4 - Another set of lines to add to the riddle:
Number three can crack the case,
But cannot solve the issue,
Number twenty ends the hurt,
And also births the tissue
Hint #5 - The answer starts with the letter A
Riddle Answers:
Riddle 1 - The letter A
Riddle 2 - Smoke
Riddle 3 - Waterfall
