Hey,

we had launched a charitiy initiative a few days ago:
Link to our Blog Article

Short Version:
We're donating 100% of our sales through linux to the adoption of penguins in South Africa.

On Nov 1st we are going to name them after the top players in our "Penguin" ranklist:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCdo7QNnGp0

It would be awesome if you'd participate! :)

Greets!
Ben
PS: If you don't own the game yet, I've added a small givaway here:

I hope you have some kind of regulation/filters for names, unless you want a penguin named "xXAssFuCkEr69Xx"... Just saying.

We have mentioned in our blog article that we might ask for a new name if your steam name is not an appropriate penguin's name :)

Nice and fun innitiative there, but as jbondguy said, hope you've got some filters regarding the names

Yes, we have written in our blog post that we'll not accept any name and may ask for an alternate name if some weird name is on the ranklist :)

I disagree with the two former comments. Having no filters would be fine. It's time that we had a penguin called #NoScope Hitler

Damn. Steam takes about 30%?. Oh well, i guess it's less then other companies...
Great concept, don't use Linux although the concept of a penguin named tiny purple is very tempting

Amazon is 15% for digital products. Microsoft Store, Apple App Store, and Steam are all 30%, and that seems to have become the industry standard for digital storefronts. I have never heard of anyone charging more than 30%, however, and I hear of developers griping about the high cuts on those sites pretty regularly- especially among developers who discuss why they aren't releasing on Steam, or from those explaining why they offer incentives (sometimes including a purchase discount equal to a large chunk of that Steam cut) to buy their product off of steam [you still get a Steam key, mind, due to their ability to generate keys freely]. Their sentiments may be quite appreciable, as it's my understanding that non-digital-emphasized storefronts typically don't have cuts that break 20%.

Hello, thank you for supporting linux!

I would just request you don't use a URL shortner, quoting the guidelines:

  • Avoid using link shorteners, as they obscure the destination of the link, making it difficult for users to know what they're clicking.

I actually posted this link before without the link shortener, but the dash at the end of our own link is not clickable then:

A link shortener is perfectly fine if necessary.
You could also try some link formatting, like this:

Can I meet the penguin??

Of course you can! It is located in South Africa, Kape Town for 6-8 weeks until it is released into the sea again.
It will be hard to find the penguin again after that, but not impossible!

Having a penguin named Kairuku would be.... ironic? Idk if that is right. Redundant though, I'm sure.

Bump for penguins, though. <3
