That's very good of you that could do CPR and lucky you were around, my dad also has a heart thing on top (which goes fine atm) i'd probably just freak out not knowing how to react.
Thinking you could (and be calm in such situations) is one thing, but when you actually are in such a situation..
Thank you, it sure is.

I don't believe any of the crap this medicine claims, but 3 people around me unexplainedly healed from various sickness including cancer who used it.
This would be the shit i would force my relatives to eat if they had cancer. Yes, eventhough i find it scammy.

Thank you.
I do believe (in nature) there is more then we possibly can know, and there might be a "cure" for any disease, although there are also many false claims/scammy, i will certainly look into it.
My dad started to take ginger (pills, although maybe root is better but hard to get and more expensive), apparently that's also 100.000 times more effective then a chemo, several sites say, even some medical ones.

Eeeegh. If there was a competition for something in bad taste here, I think this reply might take third place.
I mean, your heart seems to be in the right place? But eeeeegh.
Y'know? Eeegh.
Profiteers are all too happy to cash in on whatever they can get, and false hope is a hot commodity that only gets sweeter when naked belief and / or dread are factored in. If someone stumbled on an even remotely viable cancer cure then they wouldn't be sitting on the sidelines using just websales and a 'believer' approach, they'd be raking cash the cash in as every big name scrambles to claim even a tiny slice of the pie.
Like, I don't mean to bite at you, but... eeeeegh.
(First place in tasteless goes to the wee scabs down there giving Lugum grief in that hot mess of a comment chain, naturally)

I was going to post something like this, but you clearly explained my thoughts better
Yep. Eeegh!!!

I don't profit from that thing. I think that's an american pill, not sure, i live in a shithole country in middle of Europe.
Also i totally agree with you. That's why i called it scammy. However a few person started to use it around me out of desperation. I don't know if this worked or something else did, but something worked for them while they were using that pill that was not expected.
And since this is the only thing i can connect to somebody's healing from cancer (i could be wrong) i would choose this out of my desperation if things come to that point. Eventhough i don't believe how it works.
Sorry if you found it tasteless. I shared that thing because i had no other idea what i could recommend.

I am saying this because you sound like a nice fellow that's on the right track but did a few missteps, I honestly wish you the best.
The main problem with alternative medicine is that people may choose it instead of scientifically verified treatments.
A person is free to use their money as they want (even if I find profiting out of their misfortunes shady as heck), but, as you pointed out yourself, desperate people try out everything they can. However, if a physician says that chemo can probably help you, while a quack asserts its pills can cure cancer without any of the negative consequences of chemotherapy, which one will a desperate person choose? I know a lot of people who wouldn't undergo chemo if they had an alternative.
Anecdotes are not evidence and, as you said yourself, you have no way of knowing if it did in fact work as intended, since you can't account for all variables. Not only that but, even if you had conducted a test in a regulated environment, you probably can't get enough data points from just a few people to conclude what's the efficacy of a drug.
Sellers in the US avoid dealing with most of the regulatory bodies by selling stuff as dietary supplements instead of drugs. If they can prove that their pills work, why wouldn't they bite the bullet and sell them as drugs?
We have a name for alternative medicine that's been proven to work: medicine! Please do not recommend alternative medicine that hasn't been proven beyond any reasonable doubt to work to people, that doesn't help more than any placebo, while also costing a lot more than sugar pills.
Comment has been collapsed.
I completely agree with you the alternative medicines point you made.
I didn't even imply to avoid proven medicine or proper medical treatment.
But at least in my country your chances to survive are minimal with cancer even with proper medical help. So i saved this product to my brain as something that would give me hope as a parallel treatment.
Again, i don't know if it would help, but this was the only thing that made me think it might actually work based on experiences around me.
Comment has been collapsed.
To be honest i think it really came from his heart and yes there are plenty of scams, and offcourse my dad (or me) aren't stupid to not take a chemo or whatever treatment if a doctor advices to do so, everyone should always continue with that.
But it can't hurt for example for him to take ginger along side what he does and what we read it could be 100.000 more effective then a chemo, if it's true or not, atleast if it doesn't hurt to try..
And ginger (root) overall has a good name for it's positive attributes.
If what hbguru said is something similar that might work (or not) i dunno, as i never heard of it, but that's a question of googling.
As i also said i think nature still has a lot for us when it comes to medicine through there, i think i even read some story about a man who was said to have found a cure for cancer in some amazon rainforest (or some other disease maybe, i forgot what) and just a few days later they found him death, suppose he had found a plant or whatever and would have been a cure, it would cost billions for companies that make medicine, wouldn't be suprising if there are dirty games being played behind all those scenes, invisible to us. Same can be said for the oil industry vs clean energy.
I agree with you using websales and such makes it scammy, but i like to believe there are atleast stuff maybe not to cure the cancer itself but maybe improve your immune system so it attacks the cells itself, i dunno, there is just a lot of things we still don't know of the human body, and we do have some regenerative parts, so why not have some way to defend ourselves better from cancer? They are already working on it by changing pieces of DNA.
But if in his case people around him did manage to get rid of their cancer, even if it's just by a positive believe, sometimes that can be strong enough too, might be weird or unexplainable, but stuff like that happens.
We had a case of a dutch actress here who had breast cancer and only took reiki and the person that did it, claimed that would be enough to cure her, and thus she refused medical treatment, and offcourse she died. Then you are not acting properly.

Well, it's not like deeply distasteful posts and comments are not typical for this nice person (remember a recent one where he wished someone to get cancer? I do. But that's apparently perfectly fine if you're a support member).

Jokes about dying are fine, don't get your panties in a twist, everyone loses people, if you can't laugh at it then what's the point? I've lost someone recently, as has a lot of people, but its always better to laugh than get upset over a joke, we're not snowflakes are we?
Comment has been collapsed.
added you to my white list for an good ratio and not being hypersensitive. also to help counter all the blacklist your about to get for having an opinion that differs from the loud snowflakes.

whatever you think
im laughing right now and your butt hurt.
if you grow thicker skin and stop blogging every time you find something offensive you would be in a better mood right now.

I rarely would wish anything on anyone, but it might not be so bad for you to learn i think if you would catch something serious one day, and if you would still be laughing then. Can your family also laugh then if you died?
Or maybe you are still an ignorant little kid, one of those that think everything is a joke, probably.

lol. i knew you were gonna default to that statement. i just figured you would do it the first time i said it. damn that was good. i think the internet lingo is "you activated my trap card".
wait i had to come back and add something. you tell me to go to youtube but your the one always posting links to random vids on utoob

Nah, i always give people a second chance when they are ignorant, It's wise to know when to just shut up and it was best for me to do with your last statement, but i just had to laugh at thinking activating your trap card is an internet lingo.
Yes i watch youtube for (and learn about) good quality music, not you kids these days trying to watch influencers and what not thinking they got a shred of meaning to whatever they say or do. And are they just random, or something else you're missing?

you just dont have anything better to do, do you?. ill keep cheesing you off as long as you want. i may be a troll but you keep taking the bait.

Holy shit mate, do you take dick as good as you take bait? A jokes a joke. Little snowflakes get offended by them, as you are proving. Grow up, it's literally a meaningless comment you're bitching about lol.

Yikes. The fuck are you two even doing? :U
I know puberty is a hell of a thing. When you don't measure up, just regurgitate minimum effort trolling lines at someone who is grieving over an actual legit RL cancer issue. You passed the first phase, the next one is to invite each other to smoke behind the the teachers lounge and skip class while saying "like, whatever" way too much.
I mean jesus, you two couldn't be trying harder right now even if you dropped a bunch of cry-laughing emoji and followed it up with insisting that white men are being genocided. Isn't it way quicker to boost your internet popularity by playing Roblox or something?
Twats :P

OwO! How someone can be so dense to not realize that absolutely zero shits are given from any of my replies completely eludes me, perhaps you're just an idiot, that's the conclusion I'll stick with because as I said, I give absolutely no shits about this conversation. I won't be replying to another comment nor will I even glance at them. You have literally nothing better to do and I'm not here to coddle you with entertainment.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wouldn't that mean you're co-blogging?
You're literally taking potshots at someone who, while indeed a bit sensitive, has at least a decent reason to be so. Whereas you're just a garbage-tier troll barely avoiding starvation by parasitically latching onto someones RL grief.
Should they have been more cautious and kept their guard up? Absolutely. The internet is a cess pit. And yeah, it's not a good look to get baited. But you know what else isn't a good look? Literally trolling for being a 'snowflake' due to a RL cancer in the family. If the internet is a cesspit and Lugum was clumsy enough to accidentally lose a shoe to stepping into it while distracted, that still just makes you the churning buttery puddle of poop in this story. One that chose to be the septic porridge knowingly. So like, maybe get your own shit together and stop defining yourself by lashing out about tribal bogeymen you picked up on social media.

all i did is say i agree with someone and said he had a good ration and i added him to my WL. then some pussy started crying at me and was obviously looking for conflict so i gave him what he wanted. why do people over analyze everything online. if you dont want stung dont poke the bee hive.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah he's an expert troll, dealt with him before. he does the whole "i'm smarter then you" "snowflake" "are you still talking, because i'm ignoring you" schtick. ya know, type of person who thinks he's just better than everyone else and only his opinions are correct.
Comment has been collapsed.
You seriously want to start using the term snowflakes around this subject?
Everyone handles death differently, everyone for sure has different senses of humor (some more morbid) without the need to immediately be a snowflake if you take it less lightly, nothing wrong with each person handling it differently.
I would not call this a joke at all, and especially not professional behaviour from a staff member.
Especially if you follow the link of Possiblepyscho, and for once i would even agree with doctorofjournalism.
Comment has been collapsed.
They obviously have zero sense of shame or any standards to speak of, because they're legit going full slapstick routine over a RL cancer so everything at this point is wasted effort. I mean, being irked that they're bottom-feeders is valid and all, but they're just going to keep at it no matter what you reply with. They're desperate for attention, so they'll happily take any negative stuff with a glassy stare and a prompt for more. The only reason to reply to to the wee little nobgobblers is if you're able to gleen amusement at watching them flounder for a comeback, but given you're invested with the real stuff, its probably best to just walk and let them wallow in their own filth.
It's all good, man. Nobody is reading the stuff they're squeaking and hearing it as anything but babies first tryhard routine.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thank you for a wise response and yeah the best thing is usually walk away from it, sometimes you maybe think you can try bring some common sense to people but with some that seems impossible.
Overall i do also just want it to be a fun place (so many that already left in the last few years), why i also try to try, a few years before you didn't had such people (much) even, like those two on this forum but it was a lot of fun actually, but lately it seems to be trending, and maybe with corona kids staying more at home and bored, it just pops up a lot, no idea.

I agree it's in bad taste. But I guess junior moderators can do what they want.

But how can people make giveaways of the standard control game if there is no option for it?
Comment has been collapsed.
How ? Don't. If it doesn't activate the correct subID then don't make the GA.
At least while it's not fixed or shows up correctly.
Comment has been collapsed.
Hold off on making the GA. If it's not there currently, don't do it.
You could put a definitive edition up as the base game if you were trying to stop people who already own the game from entering (especially in the case of an expensive game) if you didn't mind losing the CV difference. But, you can't and shouldn't do it the other way around. ;)

So you mean that it's actually possible and not just an elaborate plot to make me feel inferior to my kindergarten-aged niece?

If that is any genuine help, having it on a phone screen helped me a lot compared to a book. Still only tried with digital, and on phone, but works. Also, if there is a shape there, it's easier to find it than just enjoy a 3D stereogram, in my very short experience.
I'm kind of surprised how bad every description of the phenomena was.
It's not something that I never experienced outside of this, but it was quite a magical moment :)
(Not joking, I tried this every few years? When I came across a picture and failed, and treated it as a thing I'm incapable of doing, I know how you feel)

Given how worthless the title is in conveying anything useful, I'd associate it more with "Off-Topic".
But only because this forum doesn't have a "Nonsense Spamming" category, as some do.
The content of the title doesn't exactly help avoid that association, either.
If we ignore the <Staff> association, then no, it should be in General, since it's a community member griping about perceived community behavior, rather than any sort of site issue (see Ryzhehvost's comment just below, for clarification on that aspect).
Comment has been collapsed.
General : General discussions pertaining to the SteamGifts community, gaming, or Steam.
Off-Topic: For discussions which are typically unrelated to our site or gaming, and do not seem to fit in our other categories.
Help: Get help from other users in our community if you have any questions about our site.
Bugs / Suggestions: Report a bug you discovered or suggest a new idea or change you would like to see implemented in our community.
Hmm General is best option. Rest kinda miss the mark.

Well, technically there is no mistake there.SG has two entries in the list (see picture attached).
The one with picture is just a base game without DLC. The one without picture is a sub with DLCs included.
Problem is, since even one of moderators don't understand this, there will be all kinds of misunderstandings...
Comment has been collapsed.
Bump, the name is same, can make someone confused.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, the name is the same in steam two. Only option I see - completely remove https://store.steampowered.com/sub/870780/ from the list on SG and replace it with https://store.steampowered.com/sub/543422 (this is what you will actually buy if you press "buy" on Control in Steam).
pros:
cons:
Also, I doubt it will ever happen, I've never seen cg adding subids manually before, so I don't expect it this time too.
If should be fixed on steam side, but I doubt 505 will even care.

Which one the humble bundle give ?
From this https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/3DgFqEt , i think just make the standart without dlc and remove the other one for now, idk what sub the control humble bundle give
Comment has been collapsed.
According to https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/1c95aav humble bundle also gives https://store.steampowered.com/sub/543422 (as expected). But thing is, it will still be called "Control Ultimate Edition" in library after activation.
Comment has been collapsed.
This become complicated now. It will make more work. I'm really sorry for the mods now.
Comment has been collapsed.
Im pretty sure the sub for ultimate edition wasnt there yesterday because I searched for control ultimate and only saw the app. So if it wasnt there it was true yesterday that we shouldnt* create giveaway for it, but not true today :)
Funny though, it still shows as 40p. Dont know if it has to be synced or if it will always go after the ultimate price.
Comment has been collapsed.
Negative seems way easier. One would only have to state one's opinion in a clear and concise matter and the downvotes will be rolling in.
Coming up with inoffensive one-liners that everyone feels like they are a positive or funny seems a lot more work.
Comment has been collapsed.
As Ryzhehvost correctly noted, there are now two separate entries for the base game and the actual Ultimate Edition (both named exactly the same by the publisher because yolo)
The second entry has been temporarily disabled to avoid confusion, so there is no need for this request anymore since the available entry is the correct one even though the wording would suggest otherwise.

It physically hurts me and I had a really rough last year. Imagine a grown man crying, it's not a really pretty sight.
