Good topic thx - was just wondering which one to get for xmas :) I've held them all and really like the feel of the F710 (much less chunky than the XBOX ones). I'll just hope I don't run into the deadzone problem.... (at least nothing else in the house runs on 2.4GHz - so shouldn't be any conflicts....)

I've had a Thrustmaster T-Wireless 3-in-1 for several years now. It's made to work on a PC, PS2, or PS3. It has good, solid weight without feeling like you're gripping a brick; the D-pads have a nice spring to them, but don't fight you. The buttons are nice and responsive. It runs on AAA batteries, and I've always got a set of spares sitting in my charger. Seems to take a long time for them to wear down, and it has an LED that lets you know when the batteries are getting weak.
I think I paid about $15 for this controller. That was years ago, though, so I can't be sure.
The only drawback to using this controller on the PC is that a lot of games that add controller support just assume that everyone's using XBox controllers, and they don't add support for anything else. I've written to developers who pull this, and actually gotten this changed in a couple cases -- the guys who made Beat Hazard were the first to do this for me.
I don't use the pad for every game, because I have a programmable gaming keyboard and sometimes it's easier to stick with that. But overall, this controller's been good to me.

the reason the xbox controller (wireless or wired) would be the best is because if a game has controller support, it was designed to work with the xbox controller. In the beginning of games with support, they usually show the buttons from the xbox controller when it is teaching you the game, which just makes things easier.
Regardless of what controller you choose, the BEST companion for it is Xpadder. Being able to do things like play any flash game with your controller is just awesome. good luck deciding! =D

Bought a USB connector for my PS1 Analog for £1 ($1.60) and it remains one of my favourite purchases. I greatly prefer the Playstation controllers and there is free software like Joy2Key and x360ce to emulate keyboard and Xbox inputs if needed.

This is the one I use. Wired, no vibration, but cheap and sturdy. I think the F510 has the vibration, and the F710 is wireless :P

Any thoughts on the Razer Onza Tournament Edition? Does anyone here use it?

depends of what are you going to play with your gamepad. I have the 360 gamepad, and it's a good one, but if you plan to play something that make you use a lot the d-pad, like a fighting game, forget it, the 360 controller has the word d-pad ever made.

Hi,
madness and I were both having a friendly chat about which gamepad to get. Although he seems to like the Xbox one, I would rather have something smaller and lighter. Wired or wireless doesn't matter, as long as it's not crazy expensive.
What gamepad would you recommend us and why?
