"I stop giving away games if people are ungrateful"
Saw that somewhere but I don't really care. I'm giving away games simply because I want to.
If someone marks it as not received, I don't mind. I might feel sad for a moment but it doesn't really affect anything.

Pretty much. The gratitude you get from the rest of the winners makes up for it.

2 out of 967 is a pretty good turnout if you ask me ;) I had 2 fake giveaways out of 26 won. Should make you feel better :D

You could open a support ticket with proof that you delivered the game.

I send them a friend request. I wait till they accept. I verify they don't have the game. I send them the gift from my inventory or the code. I screengrab that conversation to prove that the gift was sent in case they try to mark it as not received. This usually works out.
Twice though they never accepted my friend request. I contacted support showing them screenshots of me trying to contact them. After 7 days, my reroll requests get approved and I give it to the next winner.
And as sviat said above, I don't think I've had a problem with higher level giveaways. Not saying its not possible there either but the chances are less than with "open to all" giveaways.
Two people out of 1000 being a problem is a pretty good ratio in the long run though. I was at two after my first 2 giveaways on this website. Support will help you out on this I'm sure.

Unfortunately, "user report" type of tickets can only be viewed by the Moderator role and above. We Support guys cannot see those, so they can take a while to process. For now you can create user reports using the Other category to make them visible to us - this might increase the support reaction time ^_^

Thx sleepycats, I know that the support is really fast and moderator are just a few of them and have alot on their hands. I may just go and change those and see what can be done with the awesome support people =)
Anyway its not really terrible as it does nto affect anything but my own pride of having a 100% positive feedback, since I know those are legit keys as I pay for all the games i giveaway.
You guys are awesome =)

that could not work in a few cases when people give away beta keys that are valid for a short while. the guys who win it thinking its the real deal, mark as received at first but when after a week or so when it disappears from their inventory, not received.
PS- i remember the time evolve beta keys made a lot of people banned and reported!
Comment has been collapsed.
yea! that's in the FAQ's too.
But quite a few people haven't reddit :P
World of puns

Also when people give games they obtain fraudulently key, and then the game disappear from your account because the shop couldn't receive payment from the buyer.
(there were a case with a lot of origin key bought on origin disabled because of that a few week ago if i remember well)
In this case pass it from "receive" to "not receive" should be able in my opinion

You can never be too paranoid when people are bunch of bastards. Screenshot every e-mail, every steam gift you send... record with a screen recording app (like Camtasia for an example) and always backup your evidence to encrypted dropbox/mega account.
It's not so you can prove them wrong, it's so you can keep your reputation when having a bad luck of giving a gift to someone ungrateful.
Also, support justice is not always swift, but they are more righteous than Dredd, so no worries.

This is the reason i dont do giveaways without restriction and i always add winners and contact them personally...but i guess so much trouble, when you do so much giveaways like you...really awesome :)

Most people that mark as not received without contacting you are usually people that regift/trade the keys you provide. What I do is always follow up with my winners.
A week or so ago I run some public lvl 2+ GAs and in one of them there was a winner that was online a lot yet hadn't marked his key as received. So I went through his history and found that he had created a GA for the same game some hours after I sent the key, and in addition to that, there were a few other wins he marked as received yet never activated. I proceeded to send a ticket to support suspecting he's gonna regift the key I provided and they were quite fast in their response. One of the support personel left him a comment on his GA asking if he's regifting that apparently scared him and marked it as received finally. Then another support member went through his history, found the "wrongdoings" and suspended him(he's still got 1 week before he comes back :P )
But generally if you provided a key and made efforts to come in contact with the winner that marked the GA incorrectly but had no luck you can always send a ticket to support to change the feedback. To me it's not that much a matter of perfect account history as it is a matter of principle.

well the principle for sure and the perfect account history to me just reflects the appreciation people give to all those GA, thats all I care about teh perfect account history, because really we both know it doesnt change anything, and people can look at my profile and trust that I will give the key.
When people dont even contact me then I know something is wrong.
And for that one GA that i gave the guy 2 keys, he got banned then he came back and mark as not received.... Thats not ok and I think support should be dealing with this type of person

Sorry to hear this :(
Maybe they changed the checkbox by mistake (I want to have faith in this), you try to contact them
Besides contacting them via steam or mail, you can send a comment in one of their old GA for them to see on the web SG, one of them is now logged in SG and the other just 7 hours ago.

So the only solution (that I know of) is that you have already taken, report to support and wait for the Lady Justice fencing her sword
I also trust that the Karma balance the situation
(Karma in action) :P

everyday i'm spotting more and more users breaking the rules with regifting, not activating their won games, giving away free stuff etc but they usually are 0,1 or 2 level.
its really bad one of those 2 is actually level 3
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah ive seen alot of that.
sometime the gifting free game is not anyones fault
The other day I put 10 copies of Battlepath that i got from a indie gala bundle, the next day indiegala was giving that game away LOL so my giveaway was going on for a couple days while the game was being given away. oh well now i still have about 10 keys for that game =)
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah i've seen that but your GA was running for a week before the free promotion,i'm talking more about those Dead Bits soundtracks that they are never a soundrack but the free game, the Afterfall Reconquest GAs that are actually the free Afterfall Insanity ones etc

Well the same shit happened to me, also it was my first giveaway xD i send the key, guy marked as recived, than couple of weeks later i was checking if everyone activated their gifts, that guy didin't, the key was used, also saw him regift other games he won, but this one wasn't cheaper so i think he just sold it... i blacklisted the guy, file a ticket to support a couple of days later he changed it from recived to "not recived" o_O
Comment has been collapsed.
WHAT PRICKS! We don't need people like that in Steamgifts.
Comment has been collapsed.
@gFunk you did mark in those tickets that it was misuse of giveaway feedback right? Last I checked they focus more on specific type of tickets and if you just put regular report you won't expect and support anytime soon and post how you made so many giveaways so far so they know to check and see you are a major giveaway creator.
Comment has been collapsed.
One of them im still waiting for an answer from them, the other one i have cut all communication, blacklisted, banned from my steam group and blocked on steam. I want Moderator to review this case and perhaps have some consequence to that person.
I doubt they will have any proof since i didnt record the whole thing and really have only my word to say. but at least hopefully they will have a flagon their account or something (I mean they did mark as received and then after not activating the key they got banned) when they got unbanned they changed to mark as not received.... When they got the ban on steamgift for not activating the key they started telling me it was my fault.... they mark key as received and not activate it....
anyway, not sure there is much to be done
Comment has been collapsed.
Well one look at your profile they just going to perma ban them on the spot so I wouldn't worry about it since you are the heart and soul of Steamgifts. Also I read awhile back old messages can be seen if your look using android steam app but don't have android phone to verify so you might be able to retrieve old messages from this guy.

I agree permaban is kinda overkill and being kicked from all your giveaways is punishment enough but that's actually what happens for misusing giveaway feedback.

You don't appear to level restrict your GA's. You may have better feedback from recipients if they are higher level, and thus hopefully more used to site procedures.

I originally like to make public giveaways, but too many bots and other non-contactable user (In most cases are bots or smurfs) makes me angry. Thus, I seldom make public giveaways now.

I do alot of giveaway , So far out of almost 1000 giveaway 2 person has wrote me as not received.
They never contacted me, one of them wrote the game as received, then got banned from this site since he didnt activate the key, then when he was not suspended anymore he wrote the game as not received. I suspect he sold the game, but I get a non received mark?
Now my 2nd item not received just came out of no where from another game that I probably have 20 keys, yet the people dont contact me to say anything.
It is a little bit frustrating imo, especially the first case, and Support is probably overloaded for user report
I just blacklist those people when they dont answer, what do you guys do when such issue arise?
