Torchlight II or Borderlands 2?

The only thing these games really have in common is the Diablo style loot system and they're RPG's. However, the playstyles are still vastly different. Torchlight is about creating a build from a variety of different skills. Where as Borderlands is about creating a build by augmenting the one and only skill several different ways. If dungeon crawlers are your thing, then go with Torchlight.

Depends. Would rather go into a dungeon with creepy crawlies, or explore an open world with psychos?

Eh, you're gonna eventually get to own both since they both regularly go on sale anyway.

Both actually :P, but if you like dungeon crawlers, ofcourse Torchlight II first ...

Both games are awesome, get the one that you like more for now and later on get the other one :)

It's not like picking Torchlight 2 is a mistake.. those 2 are completely different. Only thing, if you decide to pick Borderlands 2 but the Game of the Year edition, you'll get a lot more for your money. But it's all about what you feel like playing anyway, both are better enjoyed when played in multiplayer.

imo torchlight 2 wins by far, but i've only played borderlands @ my friends (both 1 &2) and it's just not my idea of a fun game. i like the stylized graphics but the actual gameplay is lacking for me.

Both seem to end on friday, though if you are to get Borderlands 2, go for the GOTY edition as it'll cover most of the main DLC if not all of it.

Borderlands 1 is like the best of both worlds...go for that.

I would say go with what has most of your friends also playing it.

Personally, I'd say Torchlight by a mile.

I'd go with Borderlands 2, but only because I already have 300ish hours in it. But if you're into dungeon crawlers, then go with Torchlight 2 without a doubt. You can't pick wrong, they are two great games from different genres :)

Borderlands 2

Go for TL2 if you love dungeon crawlers.But have in mind that BL2 may offer more playtime until you finish one playthrough.(and even more if you get GOTY).On the other hand TL2 got mods so you might go for it instead.

I feel like Diablo 3 in it's current state is much more enjoyable than TL2 and it's 50% on digital currently

If your computer could handle it, you could play Borderlands 2...but those with older laptops like mine probably won't be able to run a game like that, whereas mine can run Torchlight 2 beautifully. Just my perspective.

Borderlands 2. Easy.

I played 150 hours of Borderlands 2, so I would vote for that. If you buy Torchlight 2 only do, when Steam is having an amazing 0% Deal on it :P

Depends. Torchlight offers more in the sense of experimentation. You need to build you character accordingly and think about ways of making your party work togethere. Borderlands 2 has little in the way of actual synergy, but trumps Torchlight II when it comes to sheer fun and humor. If you're looking for pure fun, Borderlands. If you want to tinker a bit more with your character(s), Torchlight II. Ultimately, I'd suggest grabbing both. Can't say they're bad.
