Holiday Sale 2011 Gift: The Orange Box ??

A friend of mine is planning to get 2011 gift for the orange box. he wants to know if its a safe deal or should he not opt for it.
is it region locked or not?
nd i was lookin through https://steamdb.info/sub/12897/history/ nd i dnt understand a thing abt it. can someone please help me?

Back in the days Valve had real events. You could win this box back then and it shouldn't be locked, just look out that you don't get a DE (Germany) box, it will have grey blood for Portal & HL2 and in Tf2 red and blue robots will fight against each other and bleed oil, etc...

no he said its not the DE version. so it should work Like ny other orange box right?

Yes, but isn't that copy more expensive than the non 2011 holidays ones?
I think it was 10£ in the GMG the other day.
