I promised myself to not apply for a new SimGive event until I've finished at least 50% of the games I won last time, not quite there yet, but I'll probably apply for the winter one. Hope this will be an awesome event, last time was a lot of fun.

Maybe we'll both be able to re-join in the winter event :-)

I'd love to participate, again. I probably won't be entering much, this time around, but I'd still like to give some games away. )

It was super fun at the new year event last year! ^-^ I'm very tempted but I need to wait at least a week to see how my finances will work out.
If it's all good then I'd love to join again! If it's not, then I won't have enough to make nice giveaways. I'll let you know! =)

financial problems. I lost job end of last year and still didn't find a new one in my profession, been struggling with shitty part-time low-pay jobs ever since, all my steam expenses atm are basically only from saved steam wallet money, store credits etc. When it runs out I will take a break until my situation becomes stable and will remain stable for some time. As I struggled for last 5 months it may as well still be a thing for next months and for Winter I will have no more Steam savings/stpored games / shop credit etc ;p

Well, I don't even have a job and I manage to make some nice giveaways from time to time ;P You don't have to buy 5 AAA pre-order games if you can't afford them you know :D There are tons of games people want with good discounted prices during sales :)

like I said, unless my situation suddenly gets better - nope ;P Ofc it would be still possible to get some money somehow to participate, but one - I would be dissapointed with my level of performance, two - if situation don't get better I'll have more important expewnses than SimGiv - like rent, food for myself and kitties etc ;) SimGiv is luxurious need, basic needs come before it ;p

You're unlikely to get banned for using it, but like with anything like SAM, Idle Master, ASF, Item Manager etc - oone will give you 100% guarantee.

I use mobile atm myself but I used Desktop App at the start and really enjoyed it. The reason I switched to mobile app is that while I really enjoyed the app - I log into steam on various machines in various places on various IPs etc. With desktop app you can basically use Steam on only one machine. When authenticator got introduced I didn't have a smartphone compatible with it so couldn't use it so was forced for Desktop App, but it was really fine. If not for the reason that I very often use Steam in various places I'd still be using it ;)

As I mentioned in the group I'll take a rest this time but I'll be around to talk in chat and check how this fantastic event develops.
Good luck!

Update 26th July
Our new record is now set to 1743 unique giveaways and over 1840 gifts sent. We didn't even need to have a consolation round since everyone had decent wins. This was probably our best event so far!
Update 28th November
Teasing for those interested in future events, we already have over 1200 unique giveaway reservations. Most of them (about 800) were reserved in the first hour of reservations.
Created 18th November
Hello again community!
Some of you may already know what this thread is for, so if you do please skip the introduction part, but read the rest:
Group Introduction
First of all you should know that this is not a new group, it was first created during Chrismas 2012 and since then we've had seven successful events:
The group's stats page can give you a glimpse of that success.
So it is obvious by the repetition pattern, that we operate close and during big Steam Sales. The goal of this group is to gather a certain amount of members that will create unique quality giveaways and share them with the rest. The tricky part is that ALL of those giveaways will end at exactly the same time, regardless of the time zone.
For that to work there are some rules to follow:
It's simpler than it looks, the hardest part is for me and the mods to organize and make sure people follow the rules.
For those that need more details, you should check on the group's profile here.
Also take a look at our FAQ.
How to enter the group
What you should also know
What's the group's timeline
(read this if you get to be a member of this group)
This time around I created Steam group calendar events but the general idea is as follows:
Few last words
Our last event had 70 members and 1711 unique giveaways (average of 24 giveaways per member, which means also an average of 24 wins per member). Everyone who entered at least one giveaway won something, but still the unluckiest eight got 1 extra game from their wishlist as "consolation" on behalf of many of our members who donated the amount needed. Almost everything went smoothly and I will do my best for things to go even better.
tl;dr
This group is not for you
