I've always had that issue with GameStop's shop the past couple of years (US of A resident here) -- the first opportunity you have to use PayPal doesn't work, but when you continue through adding address info, etc you have another opportunity to select PayPal, and that one seems to work.

Warning, key is probably not-redeemable in Europe, as it's probably this: https://steamdb.info/sub/55987/ .

Just like Saints Row 4 US key was region-locked to NA too.

Other note: gamestop.com is known to cancel badly priced orders.

There is NZ AU CD-KEY entry: https://steamdb.info/sub/55996/ . You should probably check how other published by Deep Silver keys were redeemable in NZ (Saints Row 4, Dead Island Riptide), if you couldn't use them you probably won't be able to use this one too.

I remembered Raptr Dead Island promo, where they gave few hundreds/thousands? copies of first Dead Island, turned out keys were region-locked :P

It might actually be NA only key. Hard to tell for sure, but long list of various cd-keys and previous key-region-locks enforced by Deep Silver doesn't paint a nice picture.
