if he wont give you the game mark it as not received, users hace 3 slots to make giveaways, if you mark it as not received, he will loose one slot until he gives you the game, if not, he will not be able to use that slot, soon he wont be able to make more fake giveaways

read OP's posting again and than think about your advice. :)
"I just received an email from the guy that created the giveaway, telling me he's sorry but he doesn't have the game to give to me."
@OP
just mark it as not received after 7days, there's nothing more you can do.
good luck in further giveaways.

I'd send an email back to him (or better yet add him and chat to him on Steam) asking why he can't give you the game, and why he made the giveaway if he didn't have the game to give away. If he acts in any way rude or obnoxious, make a support ticket, and be ready to provide screenshots of your communication with him.
Also - did the giveaway have any kind of promotional stuff in its' description? As in - was he promoting his youtube channel or something? If so, make a support ticket anyway. There's far too many assholes purposely making fake giveaways just to promote their stuff, then deleting them either right before the giveaway ends, or after. They need to be weeded out.
Lots of answers in the thread already - could you please close it now? (top right)

"How is someone supposed to contact you to say something if you don't accept friend invites?"
Was it really necessary to write this on a screenshot on my profile? You have contacted me in this thread, that's what its for, you don't need to contact me through steam to tell me you replied to my thread, I already know. Oh and I don't accept random invites because I get a lot of "OMG UR A GURL? GOT PIX!??" messages.
Back on topic though, he's already told me that he traded the game away and forgot to delete the give away. And no, the give away didn't have any promotional stuff in it.

Well that wasn't exactly nice of him, but I guess not something worth making a support ticket over - the "not received" on his profile will be enough. The reason I did the screenshot comment was that a lot of people leave threads hanging open long after they've gotten their answers, causing others to waste time responding, and clogging the forum with threads that get bumped for no reason / with the same info multiple times. I assume I didn't massively inconvenience you or anything.
Could you close the thread now?

I won a giveaway yesterday, something I was really happy about as it happened to be my birthday too. Anyway, I just received an email from the guy that created the giveaway, telling me he's sorry but he doesn't have the game to give to me. Should I just mark it as not received after the 7 days, or should I contact support about it too?
