"A role-playing game is a game in which the participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterisation, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games."
which is what you do in skyrim.

Ah, I really forgot about polls? Why there aren't any?

That is good, but I'm a little disappointed by the recent lack of new polls. I understand the support is busy with other things, but I'd like to see a new poll made every now and then. They open up very good chances for conversations and tell a little about the ways of thinking of the average SG user.

Hehee, you know I could say the same thing about you. Can't deny it, I check the forum every now and then to see if there are any interesting conversations going on. Sometimes I check back here more often than other times, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I live here. ^^

Then I should definitely give it a go, I recently purchased some ultimate D&D collection of games from Gamestop app, which includes Planescape, I haven't tried any of them yet however

Great example on how to pull off an even greater story in a game. Not to be missed!

Awesome, it'll be the first game on that list I'll play then :)there's so many games in that collection though, planescape, both baldur's gates, both icewind dales, both neverwinter nights, temple of elemental evil, and all expansion packs for all the games on this list that have them.

Hmmm... Planescape Torment, Arcanum, Fallout (the first one especially), Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines... It's hard to choose just one when there's so many great cRPGs...
Planescape Torment has the best story video games ever had.
Arcanum and Fallouts are open-world cRPGs with interesting worlds and quests.
VtMB has really great and memorable characters and atmosphere...
I can't choose just one.

Dragon Age: Origins is my favorite, also love Final Fantasy VIII and the original Persona.

I just realized the OP was asking about favorite RPGs, not favorite series. I guess my all-time favorite RPG is Tales of Eternia. It's a very old game, but a true classic in my eyes. It was first released on PS1, but I have the PSP version. The story and gameplay are pure gold, the only gripe I have with that game is the terrible voice-acting and the butchered versions we have outside of Japan. The original japanese versions of games are usually the best ones. ^^
