How to win?

you only entered 500+ GAs. Now go look at number of entries in those. few hundreds if not over a 1000 or 2000 I guess? Noiw do a simple math ;)

If you enter mostly low level public GAs you will wait a long for your 1st win, because there are hundreds/thousands of entries in each and all entrants has the same chance to win. Be active on forums to get whitelists, look for groups, solve puzzles, join forum events and so on. Or wait until you level up quite a lot and only enter higher lvl GAs ;)

Actually I've won three giveaways so far, two out of sheer luck (and another that had more copies than entries).

The strange thing is, the ones I won, I don't think I had a .1% chance at winning. I guess it comes down to just simply hopping on and using your points and hoping you get lucky.

There's no trick. Just try to be more lucky. xD And also, the less entries that a giveaway you have entered has, the more chances that you may win. Still, you can even win among thousands of entries or lose when there are only 2 entries. Just like I said, it's a matter of luck. :P

As a general rule your chance will be higher if you're a member of a low-population steam group, or on many whitelists, or you enter for high-contributor value giveaways.

Of course there is a secret trick involved!
Hidden, because it is secret. You have to sacrifice goats to bribe the RNGods! Inthe beginning, you nearly will an 1goat per win ratio, later you will need less goats. Other users have suggested one should use virgins instead of goats, but my one and only try did not yield a good result. KEEP USING GOATS!

The only way to win is to not lose

Try to enter your Level giveaways, what have 1-2 hours remain time only. Open Discussions and enter trains, solve puzzles.

For me it took about 1500 entered giveaways before I've won the first one. So don't give up

Its all luck and also levels. Many people enter thousand GAs before winning one and some lucky guys win many games in same time. What you can do is GA more and reach level 3 at least so you can access higher level GAs with less entries. Also if you are in Whitelists or some groups you get more chances to win. Your rep, luck, friendship and networking gets you there. In the meantime keep on GA.
