Yesterday I saw someone got 300 CV with a single fishy giveaway and now I may or may not see someone got 5** (partially deleted before posting to keep my ass away from calling out) more CV than the former person with an even more fishy giveaway. Weird. .-.

It shouldn't be too too long before whatever system on sg goes through any new abusers' profiles and suspends them for not having the game they claim to have received.

Huge problem with automated suspension is there are a ton of false positives. There are multiple games that don't appear in the winner's profile due to Steam API issues and there is also a risk of the gift being revoked.

I also see many 'my lands premium dlc' giveaways with 19$ CV per copy and someone gave away more than 10 copies, he be like YAAY FREE CV!

That DLC was not "free". It was given away to specific people.

Even if you were doing what the dev of the game was saying, you could still not receive your copy just as i did.

Sometimes giveaways with 150+ $ of non-bundle value and only 2 people joined the private giveaway. All marked the gifts as received but none of them has any of the games/software activated on the Steam account. Seems legit...

It's not hard. You do a private giveaway, you have a good friend or brother etc enter. They win, mark it as received and done. This is why CV needs to go away.

they will get banned..i sometimes do private giveaways like that but i send the games that im giving...that is not bad..i do gives to the comunity as well..but are people doing 1c complete collection(a lot of them this days)...and winners don't have the items in their accounts..

Actually, I believe giveaways with only 1 entry do not receive CV... But I could be wrong about this. :)

Groups use their own form of tracking instead of relying on SteamGifts' CV system.

Usually the rule is "win one; give one" but there are other rules. :P Groups are also much easier to moderate due to the closeness of the members and extremely smaller amount of users.

Because the user has already served his suspension. It wasn't CV boosting in that case.

weekly top contributor list has been suspicious like that from the start. Users giving away huge number of games within private groups. We can check their profiles, but then we can't force them to set their profiles to public, so we'll never know.
