actively mentioning whitelisting for mentioning something like a free weekend/dev giveaway etc. is borderline begging for it and actually I believe there were similar incidents where support considered it as such.

As Klinge noted, you can close the thread by clicking the "Open" in the top right corner. It's generally better to bump an existing thread once you're aware of it existing than to keep a second one up (and as the other one follows proper site formatting expectations, it'd be the one we'd want to keep up).

Whether you consider something begging or not doesn't affect how others perceive it, and while general site users may be worn out from such behaviors and all-too-ready to assume the worst- thus making it more likely for you to get blacklists than whitelists for making such requests- the more notable concern for you to consider is that site staff is infamous for how trigger-happy they are with suspensions related to the matter. So the question you should consider isn't "was I begging" but "do I want to risk a 4 day site suspension". Generally, anything that involves asking for something else is going to risk getting you suspended- even trade offers are usually restricted from being posted on this site.

In general, though, letting us know of such offers is highly appreciated. :)
