Happy New Year everybody! Since 2013 is over and 2014 has just begun, what do you think the best and worst movies of 2013 are? I'll start off with what I saw this year and what I liked and what I did not.

Best:

1. The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug, not surprising finding this at my number 1.

2. Fast and the Furious 6, easily takes a pick at my number two. RIP Paul Walker.

3. World War Z, zombies.

4. White House Down, great action thriller.

5. Riddick: Rule the Dark, this movie surprised me with how good it did.

Worst:

1. Elysium, this movie looked outstanding, and then I saw it. It was horrifically bad.

2. The Purge, looked forward to it and it was shit.

3. Jack the Giant Slayer, glad I did not waste money on seeing this in theaters.

4. Star Trek Into Darkness, not that good.

5. A Good Day to Die Hard, expected better, got worse.

What was your top 5 best and worst of 2013?

2 best were Stak Trek Into Darkness and Now You See Me.

2 worst movies were Iron Man 3 and A Good Day To Die Hard.

Out of the two films that were released in 2013 that I saw:
Best: Hobbit DoS.
Worst: Gravity.

Gravity isn't bad, if you ignore the "physics" in the film. It's not bad, but not superb.
Consider the physics however, and it ruins the film if you understand basic orbital mechanics. The plot line is completely bollocks. It doesn't work like that.

Lol, you really looked forward to Grown Ups 2? That was the thing that made me stop reading this list, sorry to say. The two best movies I saw this year were the Wolf of Wall Street and American Hustle. I also think that The secret life of walter mitty was above my expectations. The worst ones were Iron Man 3, Olympus has fallen, Lone Ranger and Elysium.

There's not particular order, just a list.

I didn't like Riddick at all and while White House Down had nice action scenes and visuals (no doubt about it), it was full of cliches... I like cliches sometimes, but there's a limit...
btw, I encourage you to check out The Past and The Great Gatsby if you're into those kinda movies. ;)

P.S. Can't wait for 2014 movies, it's gonna be a great year movie wise!

Fahrenheit 451 the plot of Star Trek: into Darkness is pretty parallel. . Three parts three different searches. . . One man who's identity proves pivotal to his people and the turn of the plot. A twist that puts everyone in jeopardy. . . and another twist involving the quest giver being something. . . you know. . .

I´m working in a Video Rental Store in Germany..

From what my customers said:

Worst:

  1. Only God forgives
  2. Gallowwalker
  3. After Earth
  4. Oblivion
  5. The place beyond the pines

Best:

  1. The Hobbit
  2. Django - Unchained
  3. Olympus has fallen
  4. The Call
  5. Identity Thief

Maybe some of them were in cinema 2012 but all started for rental in 2013....

There were many other good movies like: Now You see me, Evil Dead and so on..it´s hard to say =)

Best movies I watched: Django and Lone Ranger (most magazines said it was bad and it only got 33 good rviews from 140, but I loughed my a** off, Johnny Depp was great)....

If it's not that good, why put it into a "worst" category, then? Talking, of course, about Star Trek Into Darkness.

Best and worst, in no particular order. Last year didn't really have any "wow" movies that I've watched so far... haven't watched a lot, granted, but the ones I watched weren't impressive.

Best:

  • Star Trek Into Darkness: Nice Star Trek movie. Decent acting and plot. Pretty solid.
  • World War Z: I wasn't expecting much of this movie... but turns out to be an enjoyable movie... full of zombies and whatnot. Not a masterpiece but certainly a good enough movie to sink 2hs into. Enjoyed seeing the various countries they showed in the movie, especially Israel.
  • We're the Millers: A comedy with Jennifer Aniston? Red flag! I was expecting 0 of this movie, I watched it because I was bored but it turned out to be quite funny and entertaining... For what it is and for what it wants to be, this movie is ok.

Worst:

  • Django Unchained: I hate Tarantino's movies. They are lame and so extremely boring... I really tried to like them... I just can't do it for the love of god.
  • Oblivion: Although I don't think this movie was that bad, it can be a little bit tedious sometimes... It's not a bad movie, but could be a bit better.
  • The Hangover Part III: It's what you'd expect from a Hangover movie, it's funny, but a little bit disappointing. Not as good as the previous 2.
  • Parker: This is the kind of movie you expect from Jason Statham and Liam Neeson. It's entertaining enough though.
  • Dark Skies: Now, the reason why this movie is here and not in the best is entirely because of the ending... I don't want to spoil though...
  • Don Jon: The movie has a curious plot... but the acting my god... Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson as... I'm not even sure what... italian descendents? What.
  • Kick-Ass 2: Huge disappointment. The first movie should sue this one for being so... boring.
