In general it's playing for me. Or if it's not a sport that I would play then watching. Watching is all fine and good, but nothing beats the thrill of playing as far I am concerned. For example I like both watching and playing organized Volleyball and Tennis, but if I were to choose between playing and watching it is a no-brainer for me.
Also, your reasoning for watching being "junk food" and "playing is tiring" don't sound like the sort of things that bode well for a more healthy life style. I do hope you try to be somewhat active for your own well-being even if it's not via sports.
On a side note, there was also a thread on here awhile ago that polled users on whether or how much they exercise. Let's just say the results were very disturbing.

Play because it's healthy, watch sport games because I can't play like the pros.

I'm not really into sports but if I was to choose between watching a sports game and playing one, I'd choose watching. Because you can grab some junk food, get comfortable and enjoy watching, where as playing is tiring. So, what do you think? Which one do you prefer? I'd appreciate if you give reasons relating to your answers.
