I'm a shopaholic and buy almost every new bundle. Many games are repeated, and I was faced with the fact that I do not remember what games were redeemed by me, what were given away and what I gave to my husband and friends.
I tried many ways to manage my "collection", but stopped on a simple Excel table.

Also, there is a column "Keys", which contains the first two, last two and some random characters in mid. It is necessary for ease of operation and ability to differentiate one same game keys from different bundles.

And what way to manage your collection do you prefer?

I rarely own duplicate games and I have to store them somewhere, but when I do I just make a note on evernote/onenote, just to remember which ones I have to giveaway :3

I don't. ;)

I'm stuck with keys everywhere, buying bundles with games I actually intend on playing and then not activating them isn't uncommon for me.

Since dealing with a crashed system atm;

Try to use secured online spreadsheet or text systems plus local backups

With this way you won't have to recalculate your owned/used keys in system crashes ;)

Damn.. Not bad! I kinda regret I didn't write down where the keys are from (except the humble bundle link ones), but I have a text document with my spare keys :). The name of the game + the key.

A simple wordpad file in the following format.

Name of the game - key.

When a key is used I delete it from the file. I try to backup in Google Drive when I remember to do so but I don't always stay on top of it.

I use what I want then give the rest away either to friends or family, through Steamfriends, on here as giveaways/key drops or on other forums I go to. I do all of this immediately so I dont forget which are activated otherwise I would be in a terrible mess.

I use Google Drive with Google Docs spread sheet. That way I always have access and I download a copy for backup. I have two copies in Google drive - 1 WITH serials or links and 1 WITHOUT. That way if I want to trade or offer a game, I can share the copy without the serials.

Before I did that it was a mess. Took about 1 hour to make the spread sheet and now I update as I buy. Well worth the effort.

I just make sure I don't have much to manage. Either I use them, or I give them away at the first opportunity. So all I have to track, is a bunch of left-over Origin keys for which I need to find a somewhat ninja-proof way to drop them.

Looks like most of you are self-disciplined.
When I see a certain game in bundle, I think "Oh, it'll be a good gift for ...!" and then I buy it, but my friend refuses cuz don't want to spoil him/her SteamLib. And these keys go to an Excel table, and a clod grows... And I still can't stop buying every launched bundle.

So are there somebody like me - managing collection of 300+ keys?

I can relate.

Sitting on around 340 Steam keys, 25 Desura keys, and a few other miscellaneous ones.

Yeah, I suppose it is.

Started accumulating them when I joined a group on here that was all about bundle games. So when I bought a bundle I'd buy 2. One for me, one for giveaways for the group. The thing is, I didn't give them all away immediately. I wanted to keep some back so I wasn't always just giving the games from the latest bundle, but from slightly older bundles too, mixing and matching here and there. I've been buying the bundles faster than I've been giving them away and the collection has built up quickly.

It's not all bundle keys, but mostly. I'm in a few non-bundle groups too so I need to have some for those as well.

Sometimes I can't help myself when seeing a new bundle. Now I own roughly about 200 steam keys and probably a few desura keys. I do, however, put them up for "sale". My friends can sort of buy those keys with virtual currency that they can earn by playing multiplayer games with me.

I have a simple text file in my dropbox account. I simply copy/paste all my unused keys there.

My method right now is pretty lame. I keep each site I've bought bundles from pinned in my browser until I finish giving them away or trading them out. This is going to suck the next time my browser crashes and the history is forgotten. I don't have so many keys that I'm having trouble keeping track of them yet.

I like your spreadsheet option. Might incorporate it on down the road.

1) First I check Steam and see if any of my friends have the game on their wishlist. If they do, I send them the key/link.

2) I ask a friend who gives me the trading cards from any game I give him, if he wants any of the spare keys.

3) If it's on a site that has a "used key" feature, I put it in a Google spreadsheet (currently Groupees, Flying, and half-Humble). Bundle Site, Bundle Name, Game Name. I don't put the key in so that I'll go back and mark the key as used. Every month or so I share the spreadsheet with friends to see if they want anything.

4) If it's not on a site with a "used key" feature, I ignore it until said feature is implemented, then I go through all the games and try to activate all the keys, and put the ones I couldn't activate because I already owned the game in a spreadsheet. I send it to a variety of friends, one at a time, having them mark keys that they couldn't activate because they were used, or did activate with pretty colors. I'm left with a small pile of keys that have some used and some unused, and post them here.
