Hey Yirg, like the group idea, and I have some possibly activated keys I'd like to share but the 3 strikes rule seems a bit counter productive to this type of group. Say I have one key that I'm not sure is activated; if it turns out to be used then I'm basically obligated to go buy or trade for another copy (same as SG rules, but doesn't that somewhat defeat the purpose?).
I've done quite a few giveaways that I wasn't sure if the key was activated, and definitely more than 3 ended up already being used, almost all of which the winners agreed to delete. I understand the desire to reduce staff's workload, but when the winner agrees to the deletion it seems to me to be a rather simple ticket. I can understand if you don't want to remove this requirement entirely, perhaps the number of successful giveaways to remove a strike could be lowered, to 10 for example. Just a few thoughts.

I don't think you need to worry about this too much. To get a strike, not only does the key need to be bad and you also need to be without a spare, but the winner also needs to report it. This happens very rarely. I don't expect GA creators to report themselves ;-)
The best way to go about it would be just create the giveaway if you have reasonably high certainty that the key is good. If you have significant doubts, using keygiveaway.com would be the better venue. That's what I do.

This looks interesting if it's going still, but I gotta play a ton of my sg wins still. I am a compulsive giveaway joiner. And it's gotten me in some trouble. Will be interested with the hundreds of keys I'm not too sure about though if it's still here when I play enough of my wins!
Have a bump!

I asked to join about a month before you did. I guess when they said it might take a few days, they actually meant a few months? ;)

That's actually reassuring. Despite usually being good at following instructions to the letter I was beginning to wonder if I maybe forgot a step along the way and now my request was being ignored. Well, I guess Yirg has a lot on his mind right now. I really hope the group isn't dead because it sounds like a really useful concept.

Funny gifs btw.
Glad you like them :) The 2nd (with the Breaking Bad actors) is from a quite funny short called Barely Legal Pawn that was made to promote the Emmy awards.

Why a special group? Mainly because there are still many keys in this thread that were not delivered, but there is some risk that some of them were ninja'd. I want to make sure that if I create giveaways with these keys and they turn out to be used, the winner will agree (in advance) to GA deletion.
A similar need has come up many times in the past, so members are also welcome to create their own GAs for free games. However, to limit the potential load on support I'll include some restrictions to reduce the chances that giveaways need to be deleted. Read carefully before joining!
GA creators: GAs for this group must not be shared with other groups or your whitelist (as I can't enforce the rules by kicking non-members). If the key you give doesn't work, you need to provide another one. If you can't provide another, the winner is still obligated to agree to GA deletion, but this is counted as a strike against you. 3 strikes and you're out of the group. After every 30 successful GAs, a strike is cleared (at least in principle, I'll need to remember to do this manually).
GA joiners: If the key you get doesn't work, let the GA creator know and give them a chance to provide another key. If they can't, you're obligated to agree to GA deletion. If you don't agree to GA deletion even once, you're out of the group.
Note that it's up to GA winners to let me know that a GA they won was deleted because the key wasn't good. I have no other way to know about it, so please report when this happens.
Anyone, including Level 0 users can join, and there is absolutely no obligation to create GAs. There are however a few requirements to join the group:
Note: Due to a Valve policy change inviting users to the group is more complex than I'd want it to be. If you're dedicated enough to go through the following steps, you earned it ;-)
Here's what you need to do to join the group:
I check pending requests every few days, so be patient. Requests from users who didn't go through the first two steps will be denied.
