Which tier shall you get, if any?
Not for the key included in the bundle, no, but yes, for the Steam key they issue you after you create a YoYo Games account.

In cases like these the poll really doesn't do it justice. Sure as a games bundle it's not much but it's supposed to be primarily a game-maker bundle and it's an excellent one at that. This is game-maker porn!

I bought it again just for those export modules (and to get a buddy in on the GMS action).
The source code might be interesting, but usually reverse engineering someone's code without a full scope for what they're doing is tricky. At least, it was when trying to read the original Spelunky's code (dat procedural generation tho). Still so very far to go~

wow. I paid 25$ for pro edition in november 2014. This for only 1$ is great! Great opportunity to try it. If you don't like, you don't lose that much.
The modules are good for people that already know how to deal with this.
This is a good bundle imo

Rachel, GameMaker Studio Pro has been bundled before in the week of Sept 19, 2015. The Android module was bundled then too but not the IOS and Windows Mobile add on's. I am not sure about the HTML add on.

Picked up the $1 tier for now. Might upgrade to BTA (only managed to get locked at 9.80) for Solstice, but not sure yet.

Tier 3. Gonna harass a buddy to get into GMS, and I need those export modules for myself <3
It's crazy, I always wanted to get into stuff like this, bought the previous bundle, sat on the key for 6 months and eventually decided to give it a brief shot with a video tutorial's help. It's crazy easy (avoid the drag-and-drop stuff though, so limited).

Seriously tempted to get the $15 level. It looks like it contains every single module. (Pro comes with two that are not listed I think)

Might add that it costs $100 to greenlight games. That will let people think twice before buying it to make games for steam.

I didn't mean money. I mean't to actually get greenlit your game needs marketing & community; positive previews, likable graphics in screenshots, nicely edited trailers, inbound links from all kinds of sources including social networks, at least one decently popular youtuber to promote it and so on... $100 for being able to submit it to greenlight is just a start of the journey. And yes, if you have no idea what needs to be done or how to even get your press release out there... you'll have to pay to some PR to do that for you, otherwise you'll end up with couple of hundreds of votes total and stay near the bottom of the queue for a long time and then fall off.

I'm considering buying the $1 tier, it's not like I'm gonna jump right away into making a game, but maybe one day I'll start... looks at the software category on steam... one day. I already have like 3 or 4 game making programs that I never even installed.

The game that's not actually part of the bundle (10 Second Ninja X) is very solid, and a vast improvement over the first 10 Second Ninja. But I digress ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I missed the first game maker bundle, and even though I actually have most of the games here, I REALLY want to dabble around in GMS :D

Wicked! I already have GMS, just saved about $700 on modules!! Happy days. XD

Hi monkeysaur, I can tell you are experienced with the software.
Would you recommend it to someone that wants to start learning how to make games?
I have been always curious about it and as I work as a graphic designer/illustrator I'm really interested ^^

I would recommend it 100%. It's the perfect way to learn to code, and for those who don't want to learn to code there is a drag and drop feature (although I would always recommend learning to code in GML (GameMaker Language) because it is very easy to learn and it allows more flexibility. It's top notch software though, so yes, deffo get it, especially if you can get the whole package at $15, that is an opportunity not to be missed!
Being good at art and design is a massive plus too! If you have those skills you are already halfway to making a great game!
Take a look at my post below and check out those games made in GM:S, some of the most popular indie games around were made using it.
Good luck!!

Yeah I have been doing some research about work done with GMS :D
Thanks for the reply and the encouragement!

Nuclear Throne
Hotline Miami
Spelunky
Hyper Light Drifter
Undertale
Gunpoint
Downwell.
All of the above are pretty successful indie games, all made using GameMaker Studio.

They are compiled already.
Sources are available as well for you inspect them.

Also, just to confirm, it is possible to compile the included source codes within GameMaker, so if you wanted to add yourself into one of the games or do some fiddling around for kicks and play your own custom version of one of the games it's definitely doable. :)

People should get Steam keys for the modules in tier 2/3 as well after 2 weeks.

If i buy T1 ($1) and i want to buy T3 ($15).
Do i need to pay $15 or just $14 ?
Comment has been collapsed.
I bought tier 1 because I wanted the games, but I don't need GameMaker: Studio Professional.
If activate the key on their website (YoYogames.com) and get a steam key in 14 days, will I be able to give that key away or is it somehow locked specifically to my YoYo account?
Comment has been collapsed.
You'll be able to give it away, no problem. The key is not tied to a YoYoGames account.

I've been thinking about this bundle. I have no interest in making games but I would be interested in making an app for IOS. Can this do that? I have many years of programing but its pretty much all been Autoit for the past 10 years. I have no knowledge on the IOS side of stuff. Most of my stuff is either personal or tied into work systems. This would be something to run on my phone. I don't need to put it on the IOS market. (but I might if I got it to a point where it was nicely polished)
I have a custom timer app I wrote running on various machines syncing with each other via dropbox. I'd love to be able to access that from my phone. Possible methods that would work but I'd need to do some self training are
I"m wondering what kind of stuff this bundle would let me do in an IOS apps. I"d need to
Is there other better, cheap software for a beginner to IOS that would work better?
Arg.... good sales. I've spend to much this month on games already.

1usd for the Professional version.
Steam key will be delivered two keeks after activating your license on the software page (but you can download the program and start using it right away when activating)
