The Steam Client is going to get a new look

More like SteamFlix now, right?

Music? Anything they do, Spotify beats Steam ten to one. I believe Steam won't offer free tier anyway.

Movies? Region locks right and left.

Other than UI revamp, I look at the 'updates' with caution.

I think it looks nice ^_^ Steam is turning into a digital goods marketplace instead of just a games marketplace, which isn't bad, but I hope they realize they need to be more competitive in the movies market, and for Comics, I'm not sure how that will work out, but I hardly read them anymore tbh.

Is that the library view or store view? If it's the former then I'm annoyed, but if it's the latter then I don't care since I never visit the store on client.

Them starting to offer shows and movies is... I don't know, I guess I don't really have an opinion on that. It will be frustrating if what you bought and watch are shown to everyone tho.

I wish they would implement DPI scaling or let you customize font size for individual parts of the UI. Even with a basic 1080p monitor the font is hard to read. I can't imagine looking at it with a 4k monitor. And no I don't want to use big picture mode. That's only good for playing on a couch.

Wasn't the new appearance suppose to be in the beta patch? I see no different in my UI, or is this on big picture?

It's long overdue for a technical overhaul.

I just hope they make improvements to the in-game browser and tidy up the memory leaks.

If the graphical overhaul happens, some will like it, some will hate it, some won't care. I suppose it would give them the chance of changing other aspects in the interface (like making support more accessible <3, maybe). Maybe they will add a feature to search your library by tags and such so we don't have to use third party programs.

Steam already sells videos... don't know how I feel about them branching off into TV shows and comics. I don't mind as long as it doesn't take resources from their primary function, being a game platform, on the other hand... could allow for more varieties of shovelware.
