Liked an anime, but watched it only AFTER adopting these kitties ;) Our friend runs small animal shelter and does interventions and adoptions. Tens of little orphan kitties go through her house each year, the moment our two girls and their brothers (sadly only one of them made it) got to her she was watching Shingeki no Kyojin so she named 3 surviving kitties Sasha, Mikasa and Jean ;) We adopted these two soon after they were already named and responding to their names - so there was no point really in giving them new names and confusing them ;) Then I watched the anime to know who my kitties were named after ;)

Actually turned out the names she chose fit them quite fine - Sasha is such a big glutton, often trying to eat ot only her portion but Mikasa's as well, begging for leftovers when you prepare dinner, actually we had to start rationing portions because of her - she would eat too much, more she could handle, then throw up later on and go eating more again; and Mikasa is like a small assasin - she loves to hunt bugs, lights or anything that hangs anywhere, she's very fast and agile and jumps incredibly high ;)
