Paying for all these subs just to give these games away. Hmm makes sense.

One copy you say, there is currently 15 copies of Trine in one giveaway, aslo 1 user gave away 28 copies of Virus Tom in last days...

There's a guy on steamtrades trading 77 copies of Trine and 19 copies of A Virus Named Tom and he has already traded several of them. Do you really think he has that many IGN Prime subscriptions?

Ditto. With all the multiple giveaways I've had around 80 chances of winning, but still no luck for me...

People are probably stopping entering because many have already won it. So that's our chance!! After everybody else in the whole world has won Trine, we're the only ones who're allowed to enter those giveaways, so then we're bound to win :D

afaik, there was some kind of a bug, when ign was giving you a random unused code every time, you reload a page. so one could easily get tons of keys on a single subscription. it was closed fast enough, but enough keys were retrieved this way.

Ah, thank you for the explanation. My curiousity was driving me nuts!

I don't care if they giveaway the copies they got for free. They have the game and I want it. Shouldn't they be rewarded for giving it away to a stranger?
Edit: Wasn't aware of the bug. But nevertheless I still want this game and would prefer for them to be giving it away here then trying to trade it or giving it to mates.

Not really since contribution's have no actual value. Also in what way is this worst? At least the dev's get money for the copies.

devs don't get money for those.
devs gave ign a bunch of keys, and ign's distribution system fucked up and was giving random keys to random users.
Also note, they could have recieved activated keys and one have no way to check, if his key was already taken. That also means, diferent people may have farmed the same key, the first to activate it gets the game. Those gifters have no way to check, if their key is valid yet.
There are lots of problems about this exact exploited keys.
You may also remember Hitman: Sniper Challenge giveaway, which became region blocked after it spread the world. who knows, what happens to those ign keys next...

But then those gifters who gave activated keys will be reported for giving away a bad key? In any case I think saying this is worse than pirating the game itself is a bit of an overreaction.

I guess it could be a weird form of advertising. But even so the dev's are benefitting somehow.
