i am looking for an extra screen or maybe a tablet - to be able to run video from the internet such as Youtube and this case mainly from a site called Loot Tv and from twitch and it be best to be able to split the screen in half and have them side by side

the reason i am looking to do this is that on a site i use (which i will not name here) i use loot tv as one of the main ways to earn with it but the problem is that my laptop is the only machine i have i can use it on and i also use that for work - so can't use it a lot and gain the points i would like

i was wondering what you think would be best for me to use to run it - if it could be plugged in to the power supply though a mains socket and still run and be used (not just charging) as i might leave it on over night sometimes

i used to have a Nexus 7 tablet but no longer have it as it got dropped and broke

i just really need your guys and girls help with this as i am sure you lot know a fair bit more than me on these things - thanks

I know my sister has a laptop screen extender that is an actual tablet she's been using since she started working remotely more than at an office but I'm not sure what brand it is.
She's fairly satisfied with it but it did cost around 200 bucks if I'm not mistaken and I know it was about mid-range in the ones she checked out.
I'll ask her the brand and model

No problem.
She told me she is using a Viewsonic Portable Monitor
The one she is currently using is the VG1655. It is good enough for her day to day work and she is only thinking of upgrading to VP16-OLED because she wants to have one that is Pantone calibrated for her Illustrator/Photoshop stuff.

She briefly tried one of those extender that have a support you need to attach to your laptop but she doesn't recommend it. The support broke and she hadn't used it one month. With the Viewsonic, it's like a tablet so you can position it however you want and use the built-in stand to support it.

I asked her if it was running on battery or something and she said she has an AC adapter which makes it run both ways? She told me she can power it from her laptop or plug it with the adapter and use it to power her pen tablet.

She did say it's very portable but is not really meant to be used outside as the brightness might be a little too low if you're using it in a bright daylight setting.

That's about it. Hope it helps. If you have any other question, I can ask her. :)

I understand you don't want to use your laptop, meaning you need a second device so this means eliminating the extra screen option. Smart TVs also may not help with what you intend to use.

If your previous tablet was useful, maybe it is better to just continue on an android tablet - hopefully, there are late Christmas deals around. But I don't have experience with android tablets leaving it overnight.

Have you considered getting an additionaş second cheap non-gpu laptop? you can plug it into TV or monitor whenever you want separate from your current laptop

to be honest i never used the tablet this way as i wasn't using these sites back then

what do you mean non-gpu laptop? do you have any links to any and i could use a second screen coming from my laptop as long as it works and i can also do my work as well without it causing me any problem

also the leaving it on over night is not a big deal

I am not completely clear on what you need to do.

  1. Do you want to continue to power "Loot TV etc" from your current laptop but just want more screen space so that you can continue to use the laptop screen for work without having to share that main screen?
  2. Or are you hoping for a second completely independent device that will handle the "Loot TV" chore?
  3. I am really confused and it is something else completely! :)

lets try this

Option 1) you want to use your existing laptop, but want to observe additional stuff in separate screen
1-A you may go for 'laptop screen extender' a.k.a 'portable monitor' [](https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-portable-monitors
1-B you may go old school and buy an additional monitor or TV which will require another power outlet. (I am old so thats my way)
Note that option 1 will consume your laptop, so no one can say if work and hobby etc can go together.

Option 2) keep your existing laptop only for work, and want to check your hobby in another device
2-A since you will not need a gaming laptop, lots of notebooks are now with integrated gpu which costs less , also can come in small sizes. Example asus vivobook
2-B I dont know how android tablet will work for your needs, logic is if your cellphone handles what you want to do, android tablet can also do. So look for android 11 tablets or something else
