Who likes/loves the Thief series or Stealth Games in general?

Beaten Shadwen. It's just ok IMO. I should give Styx a try. Let's see if I have it in my library.

Sad to see that Hitman was not in your list of options. Would you rather consider it more of espionage oriented game than stealth?

I really liked the start of the first Thief game. I remember thinking at the time that it was the first game that really captivated me with its audio design. You really had to use your ears, and I found that this had a deeply immersive effect. However, I lost interest when the supernatural elements were introduced. Since then, I've found more satisfaction not from titles marketed as stealth games but from other atmospheric, immersive games that reward stealthy play, like theHunter Classic, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Far Cry 2, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

tried thief 1 and it was utter shit. i refunded after 5-10 minutes. another serie that's overrated by hipsters

I'm fan of those games, but there are more of them like Dishonored 1, 2, Deus Ex series, Prey, System Shock.

Why there is no metal age option on your survey. For me that was the best thief game cause i dont like undeads.

bought shadwen at in 2017 december on steam but totally forgot about it, meh, i blame my insanly long backlist, its filtered tho into seperate folder where i keep the games i have and want to play (even though that folder has like 150 games)

it is a pretty hated game but i liked it.

I think the best stealth game is MGSV, from a gameplay standpoint that game is amazing.
Dishonored and its sequels and Deus Ex: HR and MD are about equally great.
I have only started playing the Styx sequel, the first game had some faults, but was quite okay too.

The final mission of T2 is ass (and made me quit the game for good), but otherwise it's a great game.

the original hooked me hard back in the day, still great memories tho I haven't played any of them in years. I don't think I ever actually got around to playing the newer one. All this talk tho is rly giving me the itch to play some dishonored now :D Also checking out that Dark Mod game. From my quick look over the pics n video it was giving me those nostalgias :)

thief 1 and 2 are great games. i loved every second of them and i finished each of them like 10 times. several times on hardest difficulty and once even with 100% of all loot in the game collected. i even put in all the fan fixes for single pieces of loot that glitched into walls and the floor during the years and couldn't be found otherwise.

deadly shadows was kind of disappointing. not bad but it lacked the old charm and it felt way too consolified. also i think effectively removing the keepers at the end of the game was a HUGE mistake for future games and their possibilities

the latest thief was ok as well but it felt strangely of out of place all the time. like no ties to the old games and in the end it felt kind of generic.

my little sister played all these games as well. i still taunt her now and then since i had to play both shalebridge cradle and moira asylum missions for her as she was too afraid to go any further than the front door.
