What lies "Beyond Gotham", anyway?

[Tier 1] Why do the ninja turtles make terrible office mates? — They always destroy the shredder.
[BTA] More Marvel IPs than you can shake a Batman at? I'm in.
[Tier 3] All the DLCs are miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine! Harrrr!
[Have] I never expected these to be bundled ;_;
[Skip] Not my kinda toys. I prefer PUBG, in VR!

Well that's... a pretty good bundle. Color me shocked.
If you haven't already owned all the games for eons of course.

Thanks Lilly (and luckz for coming up with polls that are more entertaining than the bundles 99% of the time!)

Had to do research for this one; outtakes:

How would you describe a ninja who is always critical about their own abilities?
Stealth-deprecating.

What is an office ninja's most deadly weapon?
The element of supplies

A ninja, a priest and a rabbi walk into a bar.

Humble takes away the sliders and is now deciding to push some actually quality bundles this week.

3rd time i would grab tier 3, but f those greedy, you get nothing!!!! they are just trying to boost sales so the choice to remove sliders doesnt look so bad

Comment has been collapsed.

Greedy? They're generous no matter how much they give to the charity and whether or not they give you sliders to adjust that.

If you care so much about giving to charities you can do so by donating though their websites.

They allow you to give some money to charities and therefore lowering their profit while you're getting games in return and they don't need to do that. So yes, I'll say they're generous.

hey, you can still buy the bundles (even twice) from fanatical. ok, they might give less to charity but i guess they never removed some sliders :)

If someone grabs this, please can you tell me if Batman 3 comes as two separate keys?

It's a single key.
The bundle contains 7 keys in total.

Hmmm... I'm tempted for the T3 since I need one game and the DLC for the other...

Question, though... Why does Ninjago still have CV when it was given away for free on Steam for a full week last May?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

This is normal. There was no way to save the game in order to give it back later, which means there is no point in removing CV after the free week was over.

That makes sense. Thanks! :)

Ohhhh.... so CV only drops to 0 when Keys are given for free? That makes sense, I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for the breakdowns!

Support pointed me to a blog post where they talk about the upcoming changes. It seems that the maximum amount you'll be able to give to charity will be 15% of your purchase, which is far from acceptable to me. The biggest cut will go to the publishers.

Now considering that few business activities have benefitted as much from the pandemic as game publishing, and also that charities are certainly needing more money now than ever to keep operating, this change, and at this specific time, is nothing short of shameful.

Agree, is very disappointing.

Nothing is keeping you from donating to charity if you wish to do that, you know. You don't need HB for that.

ORLY??? Why haven't I ever thought of that?!?!? Thank you, Great Master, for that pearl of wisdom!!!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

All I'm saying is that if giving to charity is that important to you, you don't need humble bundle as a step in the process. Because let's be real, no one is buying from HB with the sole reason to give to charity. If you wanted to give to charity, you'd give to charity, without expecting anything in return.

i have ninjago and non-premium batman 3 and am unsure whether i want to play lego worlds, but i want the others and bta is close enough to the t3 price it's worth the extra cents to me for super villains.

thanks for including the note about the sliders. i will continue to miss giving nearly 90% to charity but it's good to finally hear something official about it. guess only 5% is going to charity for this one then since i have no sliders and the new extra-to-charity option isn't coming until next month?

wasn't lego ninjago free for a bit awhile back? wouldn't it be 0 cv?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, since it was given away only on Steam and not by keys. Basically 0 CV is a thing because you shouldn't be able to profit from free stuff, and with this game you couldn't give away a copy here for free.

I think some games slip through though. Soon I've had a support ticket opened for a year asking why Pac-man championship edition 2 is marked as 0CV even though it was given away in the exact same way (no keys), and I never got a reply.

I don't like the new sliders--far too much goes to the publishers IMO. I used to run iirc at 50-80% to my custom charity and split the rest between the publisher and HB. If I spend money on myself, i like to think (pretend?) that I'm not as greedy as I am; that I'm giving something. And sometimes I like not giving anything to charity because I think that the default charity ABC stinks. Anyway, even the "triple the amount to charity" seems like it is below the base starting point. Triple to Charity should, IMO, should kick it up to about 50%. Only 5% to charity just feels, idk, stingy?

Anyway, thanks for the link, for the funny poll and, as always, for making the chart!

Skip, not a fan of bundles where they want you to pay full price and receive less games.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nothing humble to see here. Remove the sliders, but let people pay what they want still, "hey, give us $50 and we'll give charity a pittance".

Top contributors should either go away or all excess past T3 should go to charity. As it stands, it's disgusting.

So wuth their plan that "You can only give THIS much to charity" can they change their name to GreedyBundle already? Nothing humble on screwing over charities to fill your and game publishers pockets...

I'll think about it. I bought two of those during the WB sale and they were cheaper then. I don't get why they only sale the regular version of Marvel's Avengers.
