Happened to me today screenshot, in both browser and client +_+
when I click "View in store" in Steam client, it opens the link with "origin" part in browser, not the correct link in client.

Probably has something to do with the new Steamcommunity that's coming.

They haven't fiddled with anything for no reason in a few weeks. What do you want them to do, just leave things that work alone?

Is your remark supposed to be sarcastic? Not changing anything for a few weeks isn't that long of a span. Leaving things that work alone is the best approach. I hate websites like Facebook, YouTube, and Yahoo that find it necessary to push out frequent interface changes.

Agreed. My main issue is with the frequency of these changes, not necessarily the changes themselves. Sometimes the changes are for the better and sometimes they are for the worse (obviously a matter of opinion). But for either one, it's always a hassle readjusting especially if you just finished getting used to the old one.

I doubt it's a hack. Someone probably messed up some KODIN'.

go to OP's inventory, click on Last Remnant gift, click "View in Store", you'll see

because the problem lies there, not the steam store
you don't want? K
and... you know how to access steam profile of SG's user without enter any "suspicious" link, do you?

you have no clue what they are talking about because you aren't doing what they said causes the problem, you shouldn't post if you don't have the same issue from doing the same thing

just go to anyone's inventory, click a gift and put your cursor on view in store button. don't click the button if you don't want to. i'm sure almost all browsers show you the url. read the url.
edit: if you are on steam client, right click view in store, copy link address, paste to notepad or whatever.

Either: Someone mucked up with the URLs, there's not enough URLs and they had to add an extra part somewhere eg .origin, that's been there the whole time and we haven't noticed it, hackers, steam is merging with origin to make an almighty game storage or steam is going to change something soon.

It happen to me too, in steam clien, when I click on a gift in inventory "view in store"...

I noticed this on the region free COD: Advanced Warfare that comes from Russia, it directs you to http://store.origin.steampowered.com/app/209650/ which never loads. Might be a hack Russians are using to buy region free games. :P

01:17 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: Because steam got hacked
01:17 - Jason Deirulo: Source?
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: I am the source
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: check this out
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: Go to any inventory
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: Press on a game
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: And then press on view in store
01:18 - Gun of Weapons: theres a store.origin thing
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: Yes
01:18 - Jason Deirulo: oh right
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: Exactly
01:18 - Jason Deirulo: Dude, that's called a glitch.
01:18 - Dhoom: aight sure
01:18 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: Someone is messing with URL handler
01:18 - Jason Deirulo: Ever heard of a little thing called Akamai, made?
01:19 - Dhoom: Akamai is a net distributor arent they
01:19 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: yeah
01:19 - Jason Deirulo: Dhoom, correct.
01:19 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: What's with it
01:19 - Jason Deirulo: They provide the service for Steam.
01:19 - Jason Deirulo: this has happened before, and it's not a hack, it's an akamai glitch
01:19 - Jason Deirulo: Because Akamai also provide the same service, for Origin
01:20 - ^0Made[BE]^4| EvO: That doesn't explain it
01:20 - Grizzlywolf: actually, it does

Lol dude install SteamGifts Plus :D. It shows linked pictures like this one by just hovering over the link. And about the "hacks" and bots. Are we banned on posting links just because people are getting scammed? lol
Also it's a picture of the Ori priest in the tv show Stargate. Their religion is Origin XD hence the joke.

pretty damn obvious steam and origin are up to something > nobody got "haxed" ... this shits seems official

This is still going on for me. Anybody have any idea when it'll be fixed?

i just noticed, even my meltdown gift and castle crasher gift has "origin" on the view store link.

No useful information in this thread about that glitch yet. Only thing that kind of makes sense is that they're making preparations for future steam (community) update but why would they do it so much in advance? This kind of leaves those links useless for a long period of time.

the bug was fixed, no more "origin" in your dear Steam client yay

If you click View on Steam, the browser try open
http://store.origin.steampowered.com/app/282070/
instead of
http://store.steampowered.com/app/282070/
*Note1: if you change steam language in some case propagate right app's urls
*Note2: seems is affected only new releases
