I suspect even though it is a VERY uncommon personality most will be an INFJ or INFJ-t (Me)

I got INFP-T, although the F/T and P/J labels where nearly 50/50, just off by a few precent. So I'm definitely IN__-T, but I could be INFP-T, INFJ-T, INTJ-T or INTP-T. It would probably depend on my mood which one the test would say I am. I remember years ago doing that test and I got INTJ back then in my mid teens.

From the description of INFP-T I got, it fits the old me to a T and the current me very closely and the desciption of INFPs sometimes going into “hermit mode” is pretty much exactly what happened to me over the last 10 or so years.

Edit: Based on what I read of the 4 IN__ personalities, I suspect I'm somewhere between INFP-T(Mediator) and INTP-T(Logician).

You have a point there, so let's not do that. I don't post that much, only if I really have something to say I guess. And also depending on my mood.

INFP-T here. I always feel like I do these wrong, though, because I can't determine where on the scales I should answer, usually... :P

P.S. What kind of pokèmon are you? Are you loyal through-and-through? And do you have a heart that's true?

INTP-T, but I've been sad and extremely stressed out lately so I'd be interesting to repeat the test when things are more chill

EDIT: I feel like I am more Judging than Prospecting, weird... In the test I get a very close split (45-55), I guess that's because what I find important (flexibility rather than timetables) and how I personally organize myself (timetables which I can't always respect, plans B and C) are different matters

As a rule of thumb, I would say that if you love being at the centre of positive attention but hate it if it's negative, then you can agree with the statement "You do not mind being at the centre of attention".

Those that disagree with that statement usually hate being the centre of the attention regardless of it being good or bad (or at least, I do)

But yeah I agree that the questions lack nuance

It's as reliable as anything can be. The lack of context is mostly part of the test, so you may consider whatever it comes to your mind at first, filling the gaps with whatever you find convenient or true to yourself. If a question makes you feel too dubious, mostly likely you'll avoid strong reactions to make it more balanced, or even nullify it. It just have some hard time quantifying that reaction, that is.

Considering your overall %, even two or three differerent answer for each axis would still provide the same result, so it's still reliable. Unless you had some "stat" bellow 60%, which is not the case, would make your answer dubious.

It's funny because the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator was created based on Jung's psychological functions, along with his archetype theory further down the road, which actually made him suggest to avoid labeling the archetypes, as it'd limit their concept and call some judgment upon them, so by itself, the whole test is unreliable at some extent.

Still, it's a very nice tool for reflexion, and knowing more about ourselves.

As I said, accuracy is not a problem, it'll be whatever you consider! Anything that trigger a dubious answer would at least call a "weak answer" (somewhat agree/disagree) or even a neutral (neither agree or disagree), that would count little to none on the result.

16 personality types is actually a lot. For people who believe in astrology, there're 12 zodiac signs, so 12 core personality types. Heck, in Plato's The Republic, he divides society in 4 types, if I can remember correctly (Philosophers, Guardians, Merchants and Artisans, something like that). In pure Jung's personality functions theory, it was actually 8 general types, so the The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator went beyong that.

So, 16 seems like a fair number in general. Of course you can read the 16 concepts as something more wide and see a whole gradient between them, and position us between them. I guess Jung would agree a little more with something along these lines... so the actual number would be much higher.

I also agree that labels such as those can influence on how we see ourselves, but one way or another, every label does that... that's what we do, use labels to define what are we made of. That's a part of knowledge, and yes, it had a big marging of error, as something needs to be known for we to have some knowledge, and therefore, the thing itself is limited by us after that.

Anyway, to fully understand the "results", you must know that the "core" of our personality, the functions, point more towards a tendency, not the whole personality. Like, the kind of attitude you'd have on most ocasions, if you don't force yourself too much, or even if you feel trapped and have to resort to your instinct, something like that.

The Intraversion-Extraversion axis speaks for itself in general, and most people would be identified by one or another. I like to think, philosophically, that it's based upon where the person think the truth is held: on the outerworld, or within itself. But usually, it's where your energy flows to naturally, inward or outward.

Then, comes the 4 functions: Thinking, Feeling, Sensings, Intuition... they're developed withing an order for each person. The first developed function is your main function, and naturally, the opposite function will always be your "least used".

After a while, you'll beging developing an auxiliary function, found in the other axis. Then you develop the opposite function of this axis, and last of all, you may develop your least used function. That's called individuation by Jung.

The theory behind it, even though quite general/vague as well, is very interesting, and tells more about the journey of the personality, not where it reaches or what it's labeled on a certain point.
