unfortunately it's still a looong way til the dealings with homophobia etc will be "good" (if it will ever be good). even in germany I've seen some really creepy stuff in the news. people saying that it's some kind of "sickness" and stuff, I really thought that people (here) know better. I always get aggressive when I hear about intolerant stuff like that.

This is why the VOCAL international homosexual community is so cancerous. I have supported the idea that everyone should have equal rights regardless of gender, race, sexual perference, religion, etc. But when I see some stuff that this community does, it makes it hard to support them. Theres one thing to be proud about your sexuality, and theres falunting it around like you`re some sort of other race that needs special rights and attention.
Youre sexually attracted to the same gender, big whoop! Sure theres some people out there that still discriminate, and they definatly should be informed of how terrible their point of view is, but parading around your homosexuality EVERYWHERE YOU POSSIBLY CAN is just pathetic! You don`t see white people or straight people falunting around their race or sexuality in parades, holidays, events, and anything else.
I even saw a petition online to get the CN tower to put on rainbow colors to support homoseuxality, and because the manager said no, hes somehow homophoibic and an evil person? Are you serious?

I'm sorry you see it that way but allow me to disagree. Not on the general notion but in this specific case. I agree that some people become overzealous with issues like these(not just LGBT but all kinds of social activism) and they kinda annoy me as well.
However this thread is nothing more than what I did for Mother's Day, Women's Day, Press freedom Day even freakin Star Wars Day and I'm not a woman, a mother, a journalist or even like Star wars xD
Ideally I'd like to be able to create little giveaways for a much bigger number of commemorative days like Worker's Day, Day Against Racial Discrimination, Independence Day etc. because as a TOTAL they serve as a nice reminder of how much we've progressed as a species and not any one particular group of people, however I'm not made of money so I only do when I can. :\

Fair enough. I thought this was another "everyone look! homosexuals! respect them or else!" threads.
We have indeed progressed quite far, I remember not too many years ago where homosexual marriage was still illegal pretty much everywhere, and at one point (when I was youing chritisan lad) I disliked homosexuals and atheists, and it all had to do with my religious teachings and influence. Thankfully I got away from that hate when I got away from religion as I got abit older (not that all religious people hate homosexuals, it was just how christianity and alot of other religions are).
Im just sick of homosexuals pretending to be a race or something. I view homosexuality as relevant as your opinion on a steak sandwich. I don't judge someone or immediately identify them on their sexuality as much as I would by their like or dislike of a steak sandwich (or anything else you want to place instead of steak sandwich). So seeing homosexuals actually identify themselves by their homosexuality and making it the number one thing about them is really stupid and annoying, more so when they flaunt it around and act like everyone needs to know and needs to treat them with utmost respect because of it.

As a bi guy, that makes me sort of happy. Not full-blown (heh) happy because of said small number of assholes but still it's a nice step forward.

Wwwwhhhhheeeeeeeeee another commemorative day that I'm passionate about is finally here!
May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia! As a gay young man myself I can say we've certainly come a long way from the time people didn't even dare admit such a thing publicly but we've also still got a long way to go till LGBT+ sexually oriented people are considered truly equals. Unfortunately where I live(Greece) same sex marriage, let alone adoption, are not yet legal like in some other countries or states but there's hope! Anyway I don't wanna bore you. I tried to look for an appropriately themed game for today and realised there's a real lack of games, even more on steam, that either deal with this topic or feature important characters of queer orientation. So I picked something where you can choose your own sexuality and isn't heavy on stereotypes.
