ok....

im trying to connect a ps4 to my old analog monitor(just has a VGA input) via an adapter but its not working....

but the thing is itried some laptops and a set Up box and all of them work perfectly with this HDMI to VGA adapter of mine but the ps4 wont....

i disabled HDCP in PS4 setting but again no Luck.....

any advise to get it working???

this is the adapter or at least mine looks exactly as this one

Update:it seems like that the ps4 outs a low current hdmi signal so any adapter requires an external power source to work .....

so any idea to add some external power to this adapter ???

You might as well just buy a new monitor with HDMI, it will likely be only 3-4 times the cost of a new adapter and will definitely work.

If you really want to buy an adapter, search for powered HDMI to VGA adapter. These aren't cheap, about $20 on Amazon and I assume it costs more in your country because not many manufacturers make these kind of stuff. It might be cheaper on eBay though.

Cheapest HDMI monitor on pcpartpicker is $119-$121 (cheaper one isn't 1080p). 6 times more expensive.

ok got the solution.....

you need to add current to hdmi pin 18 ..... current is 5v so any usb charger would work fine....

Firstly, that's voltage not current, secondly, given how you are trying to connect digital signal output to an analog receiver, the adapter you've linked is of no use to you, as it's VGA to HDMI. You indeed need a HDMI to VGA adapter and those usually have a jack for sound on the VGA side, given how HDMI transfers both the signal for video output and that for sound output. In all due fairness, it's easier to buy a digital flat panel with an HDMI inputs rather than waste time on trying to convert digital signal to analog and then connect to an old screen.

Why would you do that, buy an expensive new console and hook it to an ancient screen? HDMI is digital, VGA is analog and meddling between them is never a good solution.

Is it gonna take long enough to go through the trouble instead of doing something else?

Have you considered how you intend to output sound?
