I have been trying to contact them over receiving a USED key but to no avail, some users have received this response:

"A site error occurred for some users as keys were being assigned for the AMD Never Settle Forever Silver Key Giveaway, causing the same key to be assigned to other users. Unfortunately, as much as we would like to be able to provide a replacement key, the giveaway has a limited quantity and all keys have already been distributed. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Should we receive any additional AMD Silver Keys, you will be sent a replacement key.

Thank you,

Alienware Arena"

Implying they are not responsible to the winners any thoughts?

First of all, they forgot to announce the fourth wave on twitter and they added 250 more keys, so AMD obviously has more of them.
Also, if we assume that some people received the same key, then some have received two keys? Or what happened to those?

Of course AMD has more keys. The point is that they gave for >FREE<, there is no reason to AMD replace these keys. But if they do, great, they are awesome anyway.

Not to note that they didn't post the 3th wave on time, I waited like 4 hours but I missed it because I was sleeping when they finally posted it.

AMD is giving away 75 of them a week through Raptr and their new Gaming Evolved app. So I'd say they literally have a limitless supply of them.

Yep, one of my friend has received 2 keys in the last wave

They don't have to give you a working key if you only got one caused by a systemfailure and in fact should never have received one.

No received a key, system failure was sending out keys that had been used to give replacement keys to those who received used ones in previous giveaways. but now they seem to say that they wont honour the last batch of used keys.

If AMD sent Alienware used keys for the last batch there's really nothing they can do. Time to move on

Except if you read what he posted, you'll see this "causing the same key to be assigned to other users. ", which clearly shows that they weren't sent duplicate keys, they just assigned the same key twice to 2 different people.

"Unfortunately, as much as we would like to be able to provide a replacement key, the giveaway has a limited quantity and all keys have already been distributed."

There aren't enough keys for everyone as in there are more winners than unique keys. So there's really nothing they can do. Time to move on

That's AWA's fault not AMD. If AWA wants to fix this, they have to get keys from AMD and give them. AMD is not obligated to provide those keys.

What I understand from reading the AWA answer is that AMD hasn't provided enough keys for 1250 winners? Anyway, at least it was a free giveaway, they haven't bought anything, they haven't spent money so there's really nothing to lose. I've bought a R9 290 GPU and I haven't gotten my Silver Key like I was supposed to (yet I'm not complaining) so how do you know it was AWA's fault? I bought an Humble Weekly Bundle where they promised Steam keys that weren't available at the time and I never got them. It could be worse... Like I said, it's time to move on

If you bougth your GPU on Amazon you won't receive the code, bought the mine and apparently the GPU does not include the code.

I sent them an email, and received the same message.
But it was a giveaway, and I didn't lose anything, so I can endure it.

You see, they can't give you another key coz there must be 1k keys = 1k winners. And some people are 1001 and 1002 winners. So, you won "by mistake". That's what I think.

They did another giveaway totalling 1250 keys.

Yes your math is correct 250x4=1000 but they forgot to announce the last give away so added another 250 that they announced.

Yeah, I got that too, but I contacted them again, and included the Alienware response, so they can see just fine how Alienware are handling it, and hopefully see that they have to take action, even if it's just to shout at AWA until they get it right.

AWA is the worst place to give keys like those. Their system is unfair and exploitable. I would prefer a system like SG where winners are chosen at random. Well, I think AMD learnt their lesson. They won't be letting AWA host any of their giveaways again.

Honest mistake, and it was free anyway, so just let it go. My sympathies, though. Must be tough to go from the high of winning to the low of realizing the key doesn't work.

It was not free for people who bought their hardware in expectation to also receive a promised games.

how these even are related?

AMD will replace in this case.

Well, the mail states that they are out of keys atm, and it is also a possibility that someone who received key earlier (people who bought their hardware) and didn't activated it on time, now can't do it at all because AMD sent his key to someone else. So my question is how will they replace keys in that situation if mail states that they are out of keys.

AMD will still replace keys, if bought with hardware... As madjoki said: not related.

It's AWA that ran out of them and made this mess for a FREE giveaway and I really doubt that getting in touch with AMD will grant a replacement.

This giveaway was by Alienware. Coupons with hardware are handle directly by AMD.

I'm pretty damm sure the pile of codes AMD printed on paper is different than they sent to AWA...

Usually that stuff don't happen. Or if it was to happen it would have been noticed far earlier as those codes have been around for months...

How can you say that when you're a member of Steamgifts? This entire site would condemn a single person if he failed to deliver, yet because a company did it to 250 people, that's fine?

250?
Probably just few got invalid. It's just that those who got valid doesn't usually complain.

There's been a tonne of people complaining about it, It looks like the entire 250 was repeats, and the people who got lucky, were just because the people hadn't redeemed their keys they won earlier.

Maybe a error of the page, but if they refuse to give new keys to the people who have problems with that
it means they not give 250 keys maybe... and this means it´s a fake giveaway...

It's not a fake giveaway as most people got their keys. Some exploiters even got multiple keys and were trading them in steamtrades
