I'm impressed, from the crate to the slate colour of the machine. That controller looks fab too.

Just wondering why you would hook it up to a small screen at the desk. It's meant for couch gaming. That's their whole focus in this. To get into the living room gaming.

I love the white ring when it starts up.
The green led's make me kinda sick..idk why.

Hands down the ugliest thing I've seen since Gothapotamus but damn I'm jealous :D.

So, it's like every other PC out there. What big surprise.
I also like misaligned/badly cut USB ports in front. Other producers of living room machines got it right, theirs decorate the room, not just sit sadly in it. Only 2 USB ports in front? Why not 4-6 - for up to 4 people playing together and a say USB stick/headphones. You're producing family entertainment device, not PC for lone geek! -.-"

I must also say, after viewing video of booting, I hate ultrabright led in front. I had to tape a card over led in my PC to even use it without being blinded, and that thing looks 10 times worse. Did anyone in Valve really tried it in living room?

This means people should point out problems with it. Unless you're fanboy, I guess.
Still, seeing manufacturing of case box is the simplest part of making the device, it should be flawless at this stage, especially seeing this is supposed to advertise Valve's device. If they don't get it right now, what is the chance final product will be good? As much as I hate Apple, can you imagine them sending their new toy to public beta testers, and NOT ensure it would look perfect at least on the outside? Valve should take notes, the only way they can compete is on image, not specs.

Waste of money. Just have your Computer linked up to your TV in your frontroom.

But then why not just get a console? A console is far more "casual" and actually has a lot of extra effort put into making it a living room device.
The Steam box thing is just a bad computer with no advantages over a console unless you use it like a computer, which by default makes it un-casual.
