Find out what time do you enter REM sleep. It's easier if you have a rigorous schedule to sleep and wake up.
Set your alarm within your REM sleep timeframe, wake up and focus on w/e you want to dream about while you fall asleep again.
Works most of the time for me.

First of all, there are lots of confusion in the words: "Lucid" means being aware. About everyone already had one such dream. And your chart is referencing both fast sleep methods and sleep intermediate wake-state (NOT sleep paralysis) but no lucid/vivid dream.
But what is referred to as Lucid dream today, and was or should be referred as Vivid Dream (that you may or may not be lucid about), is a Dream in which you don't just see blurry images or impressions, but you actually get vivid visual representations AND most importantly you get the same perceptions as if you were awake meaning: the perceptions of depth, heights, presences, parallax.
What's amazing with VR is that it makes it so much easier to explain todays because this is actually exactly what VR brings compared to a flat screen. I also heard the using VR helps you have Viviv dreams more easily.
Then there are different theories about the "usability" of vivid dream, like learning languages by repetition, creating etc...but it gets way more complicated.

Yeah, that image is completely rubbish. I used to lucid dream a lot, but I've sort of given up on that now. It isn't hard to train yourself to do it. The first step, if I remember correctly was to keep a dream journal. This helps you remember your dream when you wake up, and I guess helps you realise when you are in a dream. After that, there are numerous techniques (eg. if you wear a digital watch, make a habit of looking at it, and then looking at it again a second later- if the numbers radically change, you're in a dream) that you can use.
My usual actions when I realise I'm lucid dreaming is simply to start flying.

I do it 1-2 times per week, depending on my mood and other factors.Took me like 3-6 weeks to be able to do it properly and consistently, but i have never been more satisfied:)

Most of my dreams are lucid dreams - I guess that's pretty rare, but I've only discovered that a couple of years ago. For me it's normal, so I used to believe that everyone could do it and they never mentioned it.
I can almost always change the dream according to my whims, my dreams are on average way more coherent than my friend's or family and most of the time I'm aware of being in a dream. When I'm not aware of it, it's usually because it's a heavily narrative-focused dream, I guess the "suspension of disbelief" mechanism activates exactly as it does when I play a videogame, read a book or watch a movie.
Nightmares are another matter, but I also very rarely have nightmares in general. I can't remember when my last one was, though I can remember the nightmare itself.
Anyways, I've researched the topic a bit and it seems that gamers and narrative readers have a much higher probability of developing lucid dreaming instinctively. Video-gaming especially seems to help because you get used to controlling "a character" and manipulating your surroundings, so your brain applies the same techniques wile dreaming. Or so I understand it.
Most of the techniques mentioned above are in fact more connected to sleep paralysis than lucid dreaming. I don't really "prepare" for it, it simply happnes on its own, but it seems I'm a bit of an exception.
I don't know if it's correlated (I suspect so), but I always used to have trouble falling asleep and when I was a child my parents taught me to make up stories while in bed, so I would think about those and wouldn't stress myself over not being able to sleep. I guess this could also produce a particular state of mind that increases awareness while sleeping and dreaming, but I'm not sure.

You should do reality checks every day and keep a dream journal. Have fun for some time, train yourself there and then if you want some real "fun" go to astral projection but for that you want more than reality checks, you need to know how to protect yourself... I've had a few accidental. It's not as if i were playing God. I mean, i knew i was dreaming and could control myself within the dream but it wasn't some inception type movie stuff were i make things appear or bend reality haha. Just was conscious of the fact i was dreaming and could control myself within the dream rather than control the dream itself. Usually woke up shortly afterwords too.

Yes, but I was never very good at it. I'd become aware I was dreaming and then either get too excited and wake myself up, or try to force the dream world to change, fail and get frustrated. :/ It never happened when I was TRYING to lucid dream, it just happened at random.
The worst one was where I realized I was dreaming, started changing things and then the characters IN the dream became aware that I was aware I was dreaming and started chasing me down.
But was I ever really lucid dreaming or was I just dreaming that I knew I was dreaming? Because not being able to actually control anything makes it feel like I was just dreaming that I knew I was dreaming. And that gives me a headache.
I've thankfully never has sleep paralysis but I used to get momentary visual/audio hallucinations while I was waking up. The spy from TF2 standing over my bed with a knife, an albino tarantula on my blanket, something hissing next to my head, distinct footsteps and something breathing at the head of my bed (Actually that was last week, so maybe 'used to get' is a bit too hopeful), and one morning I woke up to see a weird statue emerging from my dresser and rushing toward me. That was fun.

A few years ago I was REALLY into lucid dreaming. It may have been a thread I read on all the things you should try to do. Some of them were really trippy like try to call yourself. Anyway I began reading up on how to train yourself to induce it and even bought some pills to help. Well, much to my dismay I wasn't very successful.

Has anyone here ever done it, or at least tried?
I've tried it a couple times with a couple different guides but could never get it to work. I think my mind is too hyperactive.
This game is not as interesting as lucid dreaming would be.

PSA: According to several posters, the directions in the attached image are more likely to give you some form of sleep paralysis than lucid dreaming. I'm no expert by any means(frankly, I doubt anyone is), and I found it while searching the internet for an image to attach to this post. It's up to you if you want to try it this way.
