Well, I was recently talking to one of my friends of getting this program because I have used it for so long. He told me it is VAC banable but I dunno.
Here is the program: http://steamidlemaster.com/

It collects card drops but it shows your playing the game where you are not.
Please tell me if it is VAC banable or not.
Thanks.

No, it's not. You don't actually run a game while using it, so therefore couldn't possibly be connected to a VAC enabled server. Your friend is an __.

If you play a game that is VAC enabled while using idlemaster or SAM.. maybe you will get VAC banned.. idk.

Both programs use the Steam API to determine if you are "playing" the game. In laymens terms, it sends a signal to the steam client that you are playing the game, and that is all.

People have received VAC bans from using SAM in the past. Or so they have claimed.

Unlike idle master, it actually intrudes into the game files so that would be understandable.

But you can get banned from steam from abusing SAM, so I wouldn't recommend using it to get achievements

People claim when you use SAM to score achievements in VAC-secured games you can win VACation.

Only on games with multiplayer trophies, and so far to my knowledge only Team Fortress 2 was confirmed to a degree. Otherwise SAM is safe. People use it frequently to lock back achievements, especially for challenge runs.

Never heard about anyone getting banned for using it. There's no possible way that Steam can know you're using it anyways.

I can think of several ways and taking a look at the source code would probably provide a few more ideas :P

If you are playing in a VAC enabled server while you use that software (or SAM), you MIGHT get VAC banned, or atleast that's what I've heard.

Steam Idle Master won't VAC Ban you, only if you play a VAC game while using the program to idle for random cards.
I use it all the time, on this account and on my alt accounts, none of them got banned ever since.

Only possible way, as far as I know, to be VAC BAN using either sam or idlemaster is, playing[really playing, with the game opened] a game that uses VAC.

So, do not play while using each program

I say idlemaster is safer than SAM.

Those are generally safe

The only time you trigger a vac ban is if you play a game that is VAC and even then you have to be connected to a VAC server before it will trigger it.
I think some games even when in single player game will connect to VAC servers that is the only reason i say stay away from playing games while using idle master just to be safe,

VAC is only triggered when it finds memory in the .exe has been altered usually most cheats have to alter the .exe in some form to function. But if you want to be safe it is best to just not play any games while running idle master, but i think most who use it to Idle.

Though due to how idle master works i wonder if it would even cause a VAC unless run while connected to VAC server, seeing how it actually does not launch the game but mimics the game running.

Still as safe as people say it is be cautious as people have gotten bans from running things like this and forgetting about it then launching and playing a VAC game.

afaik to get VAC -BANNED you need to play VAC-PROTECTED GAME on VAC-PROTECTED SERVER. As idle-master is not joining any servers, just emulationg game-process running it should be safe. However if at the same time you join some VAC-PROTECTED game it may recognize it as third party program maybe. So just don't play any VAC games while you're using IM, SAM, Cheat Engine or any other program that may interfere with Steam or game itself.
