I get the reasoning behind it, I'm just not a big fan of the permanent opportunity for activity stalking that comes with it. Any chance for a "public on request" compromise? I don't have anything to hide, I just don't like the thought of everyone and their mother being able to see when and what I am playing at any time. Once bitten, twice shy.
