I'm just wondering if there is anyway to connect a steamgift giveaway with a its too hard puzzle? Basically so that the only way you can enter the giveaway is if you completed the puzzle.

Reason I'm suggesting this is some of these giveaway makers take the time to make these great puzzles which you are suppose to finish before being able to enter a giveaway and then some idiot comes a long and spoils things by posting up links to the private giveaway.

So basically you make the puzzle first with some sort of place holder for the steamgifts giveaway url.

Then you make the steam gifts giveaway, and it would have a new option of "require people to finish itstoohard.com puzzle first" that can be checked off and when thats done you can put the url for the puzzle in it. You finish up the giveaway and take its url and put it back in the puzzle.

This way it works sort of like how group giveaways work. You can only enter it if you completed the giveaway and it leaves something in your cache or where ever that says you finished the right giveaway.

It would require the makers of Itstoohard and steamgifts to come up with something for this idea to work. I'm just not sure how good it would be against keeping people from leaking the giveaway and it still won't stop people leaking the answers for the puzzle.

While that would be nice, I don't know if there's any way to implement that. I suppose you could ask people to comment what the answer to x question was, but then people who circumvented the puzzle would just be able to copy other people's answers anyway.

It's nice idea, but they'll just leak answers instead of links...

It will be easier to track down the culprit. First he will have to login to ith to solve it

Actually, you would only need to persuade ith owner to use steam login and publish list of all solvers for each puzzle. Then ask for reroll if someone is not on the list (with prior approval for custom GA rule from support).
After that, you can lobby for SG change to autoreroll

Hey that's a really good idea. I'll tell the ITH creator about this thread when I get back from work.

Thanks, that's nice of you (I know Jexel only from his puzzle)
Idea needs some polishing (forced login to solve and a pile of technicalities for data exchange/presentation), but i'd rather leave it to someone with more than basic of web development )

Just out of curiosity: Have the ITH creators responded?
I've just used an ITH and tried to see all solvers but can't find an option.
