Battlefield, yes. There's some recoil. CoD? Nope.

Look at how skill-less this is

Why do people say this? All games require skill of some sort. If COD was really no skill why would they hold tournaments for them and why is not everyone pro? Clearly because it takes some sort of skill, for example, quick reflexes, hand eye co-ordination, and good decision making. Heck, even trolling in games require a skill of some sort, the ability to use a pc or controller is considered a skill. Also i'm not trying to start a flame war, i'm just trying to be reasonable

When people ask dumb questions they deserve dumb answers.

You're joking, right? Tf2 has been a competitive game for years.

CS:GO is still not optimazed. People with very good pc's get low fps and people with crap pc's get low fps

I have over 150 hours i think and i ran into maybe one cheater.
I have singlecore cpu and i play on about average 20 fps.
Dont listen to DemiBejita its far from just another twitch shooter and someone who just joined it for few minutes got owned and rage quited can say that.
There is so much to learn to become good that i cant write it down here all,and not to mention that community is growing and is not 10 year olds screaming how they fucked your mother like in COD.

I am too lazy but i guess it is DMG and higher ranks with bunch of cheaters.
I dont deny that at higher ranks there is lots of cheaters but now valve deletes that game like it never happend when cheaters get banned in ban wave,so if you get queued with cheaters just screw around since game will be deleted.
And most of highly skilled players when they reach that rank they move to Community competitive servers or AltPug/ESEA....

If you get into it, I strongly suggest you get into competitive, it's a bit more serious gameplay but it's alot nicer with the balance, skill group and all that.
But first, a fair warning... you need at least 3-4GB RAM and some nice CPU to play it good enough on low, otherwise you'll have stutter issues, mid-game short freezes of the game loading stuff when they happen, like sounds, which sux.

Unreal Tournament series. You can make some frags without learning game features and mechanics, but experienced players pwns everything that moved on the map. There are a lot of exciting stuff to learn.
BioShock 2. Badly balanced for newcomers, so at the start you must jump off your pants to win. Later you got some perks and skills, and it means a lot. But there's not just 'run & shoot' gameplay, so even top-players should kept their attention all the time.

CSGO FTW
youre probably a guy who thinks he has skilled in Fps shooters, but if you didn't play CSGO yet, you better play.

Played Cs Go for a long time and not one time have I met a hacker, servers are not bad, occasionally there is a little lag, like once a game, not even once a game, maybe it's just bad luck for you, or maybe you're using internet delivered from the North Pole and playing with Russian cheat-testing companies.

You've never met a hacker in CS:GO?
You must be one of the lucky few...

What's with CoD and BF hating? I know they are bad games that are targeted for very young audience that only like explosions and a lot shooting, but still, is it really that you need no skill to play those?
Also what about commanding skill? I remember playing MAG on my Ps3 (it's exclusive). It is the biggest multiplayer shooter I think. On a single map there could be 2 teams each consisting of 128 players. It wasn't about your skill anymore. It was about commanding all those 8 man squads to fend off enemies and defend objectives.

CoD is run around, stand still, shoot, repeat. No strafing or jumping, just walk, hold right click, hold left click, with a built-in mini aimbot. That's all there is to it. Then you get OP kill streaks which make kills for you without doing anything. Absolutely amazing. The game is designed for newcomers to the genre. You don't need any experience. Just pick it up, and you're good to go. Even the developers say that CoD fans aren't casual gamers, they're not even gamers at all. Battlefield on the other hand is more focused on team play (something you only see in clans nowadays). Takes a little bit more skill than CoD, but it seems like the latest BF titles try to copy the CoD gameplay. And not only BF, many other franchises are trying to do what CoD does in order to get more attention. "Hey look kids, we're just as cool as Cerl er booby, pls play our gaems!!" and thus the FPS genre was DOOMed (geddit?). So ye, everybody hates CoD since CoD 4 because it ruined the genre.

Whether it's skill to kill when it's easier or when it's harder, it's skill. But I agree that movemement, map knowledge and knowing how to use using correct items is very important as well. A sort of wisdom. I was always the kind of guy who likes the playstile of rushing and getting killed. It's very fun when it occasionally pays off. I might get better stats by skulking around and being more careful but for me that's not so much fun. Counter-Strike: Source is still my favorite fps. I have to say BO2, CSGO and especially BF3 aren't as good. Currently I'm taking a huge break of such games...might get into them again. But I have no friends to play with :(

Tribes: Ascend
check some youtube videos, it's a free to play but you can top the boards with the starting gear.

I downloaded it two or three days ago and I can tell you it's not completely dead. There are maybe 3-4 almost full servers (around 28 players) and about 10 or so servers with only a few players. The player base is small but it is not non-existent.

there are still a good quantity of players, most of them dont use steam tough, because it only makes it more complicated to download, is better to use their client from their website.

Hi, i'm searching for a FPS game, where you really need to have a skill to be good.
Like Quake or Counter-Strike. No like BF or CoD.
EDIT: I mostly mean a shooting skill :P
