I heard that the Colonial Charter mod enhances the vanilla version by a tenfold, so I guess it's worth recommending it.

Btw, be aware that while playing with the mod installed you can't unlock the achievements.

I´m a fan of this kind of game and have banished on GOG...but it´s not really a long term time-killer. Compared with many other games in the genre the production and economy is simple. There are no social / political aspects ..it has a nice design....but i guess thats it.

Yeah I second the idea of the Colonial Charter mod. The base game is alot of fun as well. No political or military problems to worry about. But more than enough things that can wipe out your village in the game.
The premise is you have a handful of people that are banished from society. You must build yourself a little village, and balance your resources in order to survive. Plant crops, have people fishing, ect. Not the run of the mill city building game.

Sometimes I would start starving, my fridge needs to be refilled occasionally. I would then get up from my seat, quick shower, toilet, shop, and back. It had to be done quite fast however, before any side effects from not playing Banished kicked in.

I was really looking fowarad to it, and had some fun I must say; however the game does not really offer much in a longterm. 3 or 4 playthroughs and you have pretty much seen all it can offer. It is still a great game though and for 5 bucks it's a steal.

It's a great game, was hoping that they release an update for it but it's been a while since it was released and mods are the only thing available.
Tried it before buying it on Steam, and spend A LOT of time on it, it becomes kinda boring after you maintain a sustainable amount of food and resources, that's why I think it'd be even greater than it already is if they updated it.

Banished is on sale right now on Steam. If you have never heard of it, or were thinking about getting it, now is the time. I think it's definitely worth the price. It's a medieval village simulator, kind of. You start off with a small village and you expand it and prepare it for winter by collecting furs, wood, food to fill the basic needs. Also, your village can be wiped out with diseases and stuff like that.
If anyone has played it, what are your thoughts?
My thoughts are that it's a great little time-killer, and it's so addictive. Complete the tutorial tho!
